Went mental, but in fairness they were fairly restrained. Plenty of verbals but nothing physical.
The ref said he would be putting in his report that Kierans had an extra man on the field when the goal was scored and it would be up to the West Board to decide. Which was completely bottling it in my opinion. The easiest thing would have been to treat the sideline the same as a quick free, just cancelled the goal, made the substitutions and retaken the sideline. There was about a minute left when this happened but the Askeaton mentors and players were still surrounding the ref and he just blew it up.
I’ll have to go along to this one. What are Cloughduv like or does it matter at this stage? Actually, where is Cloughduv??
No doubt it will be replayed if he puts that in his report, but he’s some idiot for not going through the scenario you suggested above. Is this the umpire guy from the U-21 match Runt?
Of course what’s likely to happen, when he gets the board call this morning is, he’ll be told to not put anything of the sort in his match report because there are County Championship games to be played and we can’t have a replay.
The Limerick GAA administration seems to be somewhere along the lines of Cork’s finest. My own division made Ciaran Sheehan play U-21 hurling championship last tuesday night, when he should have been down in Bantry having one of the nights of his life with the Cork team. Cunts. I have a feeling West Limerick would be similar enough to Mid-Cork.
Ya same ref Kev.
There is some leeway for a replay as the winners/losers are meeting the city winners/losers and their final isn’t until next weekend. It was scandalous yesterday.
I’ll head to this as well. Clough Duv is beyond Ovens and Ballincollig Locke, if you know where Lissarda Petrol station is on Macroom road, thats Clough Duv area, Mid-Cork. They are fairly handy Locke, got to County final last year and were red hot favourites but i think they believed it themselves more than anyone else. They beat us in the 1st round this year and i was impressed with them at all. They were better than us, but only barely scraped it and we are pretty much footballers playing hurling and horsed into them. I think they have a soft side, and rely on this County Minor, to get all their scores, and he’s a bag of wind IMO.
Problem is Castlemartyr will probably hurl away with them, as would Mayfield should they get to the final. But were Meelin to get to the final, there would be only one winner. Clough Duv are everyones favourites, but like the Cork footballers, thats based more on last year than this year. I hate the cunts, but would actually like to see them win as our own championship would be far more winnable then.
How do idiots like this continue to get big matches. Might not seem big to outsiders, but to the clubs themselves when its the 1st team its the same as a Senior final. I would imagine it would be similar to the divisional finals in Cork, which are big days.
He seems to love trouble that fella. What club is he?
fair play to askeaton so Runt, something similar happened in laois over the weekend over a disputed goal and the losing team went ballistic with all and sundry. They’d be well known for their antics however and this won’t be the first time they’re up on serious charges.
Kildimo I believe
He’s from Kildimo.
Kierans were sent to the dressing room without being given the cup, then the west board decided they had to give them the cup because they “won” the match, so they were brought back out of the dressing rooms again to be given the cup out in the middle of the pitch. Tonights meeting will tell a lot.
great to see frankie dolan still doing his thing up in roscommon over the weekend, a legend of the west to be sure.
What a fucking mong of a ref. The same lads always seem to be at the heart of these controversies. What kind of penalty will be in place for the sub that ran on? They’ll want to throw the book at him but what was the actual misdemeanour? Interfering with play?
He says the linesman told him he was ok to come on.
But he was replacing the full forward so the full forward was still in position and they had an attacking sideline.
It went straight across the field into the path of the sub coming in.
The penalty for entering the field of play without the refs permission is a booking.
Surely Mayfield would be well able to put up with the physical stuff?
Anyway, we lost to them last year after two long games against Nemo, things should be closer this time round.
Did Castlemartyr win a game this weekend by a point after 7 minutes of injury time? Heard that somewhere.
Yes, against Buttevant.

Was Shane Maher hurling for Burgess at the weekend or is he still out with the jaw injury he picked up in the run up to the A/I final does any of the Tipp crowd know…Good win for them if he is still injured
