Anyway, we lost to them last year after two long games against Nemo, things should be closer this time round.

You are sterotyping Turenne, just because they are from Mayfield doesn’t make them tough/knackers/dog walkers/drug dealers or anything else that may be connected with some of Mayfields better known personalities.

In fact quite the opposite, they would be on the soft side if anything, they certainly are in the football anyway. Meelin will give them plenty of it, they are well experienced. Where is it on? That could have a major bearing, Mallow or somewhere i suspect?

I’d would have strongly fancied Mayfield up until that very impressive win Meelin had yesterday.

Coachford should suit Mayfield, big pitch, good sod. Will suit a quick team. Weather doesn’t seem like it’s going to turn too much either.

Replay of final after ‘extra man’ fiasco

Incredible scenes yesterday in the West Junior A final.
Askeaton lead by a point with a minute to go, a sideline is take by Kierans which goes cross field to a kierans man all alone steaming through on goals, he promptly picks the ball and lashes it to the net for a goal. The problem?

The player was a sub who had ran on from the sideline, without anyone going off, meaning that Kierans had an extra man on the field and that extra man got the goal. After lenghty debate between the referee and the linesmen and umpires, the ref allowed the goal to stand then blew the final whistle.

There was nearly war. The ref? Jason O’Mahony.

Confirmed. St Kierans have lodged an appeal to the county board against the awarding of a replay by the West Board and will not be turning up on Saturday.
