Club Championships 2010

Think you’ll find the 'Lockes will have the Intermediate title all sown up for 2011 Link…

Well I watched the Village play both these teams in Senior this year and both were impressive in different ways.
Freshford more so than Fenians.

Tullaroan did well to stay out of the relegation games. They were the poorest of the team I saw this year.

Stall the digger there boh. Lets not lose the run of ourselves.

MBB will be delighted to know Parnells lost to Erin’s Isle last night in a relegation play-off. They still have to lose another 2 matches to be relegated though.

Ballyboden look very juicy odds against Vincent’s tonight at 13/10. Fancy them to win.

Austin Stacks will play Dr.Crokes in the Kerry Club football Championship. Crokes could go along way in the club championship this year, they beat South Kerry by 5 points in the semi final. Stacks beat Dingle by 2 in the other semi.

Per the farmyard - Harty Cup 2010 - Flannans 4.11 Blackwater CS, Lismore 1.16

Flannans team:

Paul Kennedy

Seadna Morey - Noel Purcell - Conor O’ Loughlin

Enda Boyce - Stephen O’Halloran - Conor O’Gorman

Tony Kelly - Gearoid O’Connell

Peter Duggan - Ja Colleran - Cathal Doohan

Martin O’Leary - Alan O’Neill - Eoin Enright.

one of our future football stars lost to hurling

Who is the footballer…Anyone know what clubs Colleran, O’Leary and O’Gorman are from

o leary he is kilmihil football and ballyea hurling. he will be clare minor at both codes next year.

Ballyea have a decent representation on that team…O’Connell the midfielder played against us this year in the senior I am nearly sure…

flannans spent the summer recruiting alot of players it seems.

Yerrah no real harm in that, what with the recession and all…The more lads hurling at a higher level the better

ah ya it’s great for the likes of o leary who would have had no school hurling at all and even for east clare lads who wouldn’t have been playing harty.

Vincents win by 2

He was on the minor panel this year but walked off when he wasn’t chosen for early challenge matches. Fantastic hurler but attitude could do with some serious work.

2-9 to 0-13. That was a good win for Vincent’s without Brennan and Dorney. Ballyboden were the better team up to about the 47/48 minute mark and led by 0-12 to 1-6 - Keaney was finding his range well, but Vincent’s got the scores when they needed them. Quinn got 2 frees and then a goal and a point from play and Ballyboden couldn’t come back in the little time that remained, although the ref blew up too early. Tomas Brady was very lucky not to be sent off when Vincent’s were behind by 2 or 3, clothes lined Darragh Nelson. There was a lot of very good foot passing but a lot of poor shooting. Connolly and Austin O’Malley were the best for Vincent’s.

I heard they were proactive this summer alright

I remember Clare people on here saying that Flannans taking all the good hurlers was bad for Clare hurling.

The definition of stupidity in doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, or something like that…

The main problem with Flannan’s while they were a boarding school was the fact that lads used to walk onto underage county panels due to the fact they went to Flannan’s while lads from smaller schools were completely overlooked this is no longer the case with the emergence of other schools at Harty level and development squads etc…

i was pointing out that it is good for a player like o leary who comes from a non hurling school - to move to a harty school team as it will obviously aid his progress.
