Club Championships 2017

The CPA will have a field day.

We will await a quote from Dermot Earley in early September some time.

The rules are explicit. Play by the rules or fuck off Desmond. It’s not like it’s a breakthrough county either. Exceptional circumstances he says. Dublin in an U21 All Ireland is not exceptional. Fuck off to fuck, for fuck sake.

It’s mad really. Who on earth could have predicted Dublin might reach the All-Ireland U-21 final and something like this might arise.

Farrell is entirely correct.

If they lose are they out or is there a back door?

Exactly- not exceptional.

There used to be a back door but it was done away with ahead of the 2014 championship.

Jaysus, year finished in April for half the teams.

That right there encapsulates the problem with the GAA.

We’re told there are “not enough games for club players”.

Then when a team is put out of the championship, it’s “the year is over”.

If players take the attitude that “the year is over” when they lose one game, there will never be enough games for them.

Championship is the whole point mate. League and all are grand but they are merely a build up to the main event. If you played at all you’d know that only too well.

Don’t moan about having no games then.

It’s your own fault.

Dessie is 100% correct here. Has any county ever put on a full round of knockout championship a week before an All Ireland Final? Auld cunts in the county board trying to settle a few old scores here and using the U21 players as pawns.

It’s ten days out yesterday. But these matches are fixed tonight, tomorrow and Saturday

Fact is an All-Ireland u-21 final is the biggest game most of these players will ever play. Farrell has no obligation to anybody only himself and his team, and nor should he have.

At the start of the year it was obvious there was at least a 50% chance Dublin would be involved in the All-Ireland u-21 final. It’s quite easy to see where the fault for this lies, and it isn’t with Farrell.

Farrell is on the mark - what manager is going to risk players the week before the biggest game they’ll probably play in their entire lives. Ridiculous by county board - should never have been scheduled in the first place.

He’s nothing only a cunt.

They have the prestige of the Senior B championship to play for.

Nothing gets in the way of The Blue Wave, not even Dublin GAA.

Alan Brogan found it fierce prestigious when he was bitching and moaning last year :grinning:

AKA “the Vibrant Cup”.

Fuck sake @thedancingbaby , the thread is right here…
