Club Championships 2019

Ridiculous from McManus.

Very good start from Clontibret - utterly dominant.

Yet only 3 up.

Rico Kelly getting destroyed at full back.

Do you have to be in NI to watch this?

Did Aidan Rushe not kick on into the full back they thought he would?

No, he’s gone to fuck.

Hurson is giving Cross a lot here.

@Tank

Michael O’Dowd, Clontibret - looks a very decent player. They have a big unit in midfield too who Banty might have a look at.

Cross 0-03
Clontibret 0-07

O’Dowd is a decent player, was probably the key man on the Monaghan team that won the Ulster Minor Championship, has arguably under-performed since then but he’s physically small. Son of a legend. Huge potential, very high skill level, good brain.

I think the lad in the centre you’re referring to is Killian Lavelle. A very very nice boy, impressed me very much in the final vs Scotstown. I’d assume he’ll automatically get a county call-up just because he captained the county champions but I think he really deserves a chance. O’Dowd’s cousin I think. I think it was a very big call making him captain this year above established inter-county stars but he’s delivered. A lot of smart
football people obviously have a lot of faith in him.n Obviously he has a very long way to go but maybe he could make a contribution.

Clontibret look a very good outfit.

Putting Corey in at full forward at this point of his career at this level is a masterstroke.

Yeah O’Dowd is a small guy, but he’s a great way of shipping challenges and has a great composure in his finishing, nice dart of pace to him too.

If you had have seen Clontibret 6 weeks ago, they looked fucking shite.

Very surprised John McEntee didn’t stand aside for this.

Huh?

Yeah, I work with plenty of Monaghan GAA men and they all wrote Clontibret off for the county final with Scotstown and had Scotstown wrote off for Ulster.

He’s managing Clontibret against his home club.

In the past there was a situation where a Ballinderry clubman stood aside when he was due to manage Errigal Ciaran v Ballinderry in the Ulster Club.

I thought McEntee would do likewise

Clontibret 3 ahead.

Clontibret win by a point.

Cross are OUT.

Ulster is wide open. Will it finally be Kilcoo’s year?

Buffers Alley just lost the Wexford intermediate hurling final, they won the All Ireland in 1989

Its Trillicks year.

With all the money being pumped into Kilcoo, if they don’t do it this year, they’ll never do it. Does the chap who had the charges dropped for the northern bank robbery still play for them?

I’d still fancy Kilcoo as the favourites, they have the experience at this level. Mickey Moran in charge too but they apparently weren’t too impressive coming out of Down.

Fuck that. McEntee has a job to do, he’d not be let back in Cross if he wimped out like that
