Round 4 takes place this weekend with a few do or die fixtures.
In group 1 unbeaten table toppers Na Fianna and Kilmacud should both account for St Vincents and Whitehall respectively. By all accounts both underdogs are missing their talismanic full forwards due to holiday and injury. I would expect wins in both games by double figures before they meet in a top of the table clash in round 5. Isles vs Barrog really is the big game in this group. A win for Isles would almost certainly seal knockout hurling. It would be a huge feat considering they were playing 3rd tier 2 years ago. If Barrog lose then they are as good as out. I have a gut feeling that they will do enough tomorrow night and ensure two shootouts for the final two knockout stages in round 5.
In group 2 Ballyboden got back on track vs Faughs last day out and should account for hopeless case St Judes who have been the most disappointing team in the SHC this year. Cuala should also continue their impressive unbeaten campaign vs Faughs. The final game pitches Brigids vs Lucan. The loser here will more than likely play NaF/Crokes in a tough QF. A team less than the sum of their parts vs one greater than the sum of their parts. On paper Lucan should win easily but this is on in the tight confines of O Toole Pk and I fancy the doughty Brigids to come through. Rumour has it their mgmt are taking over the county under 20s so they will want to finish their term strong.

About the only time Iâll agree with Roy. Gerry is a top fella. Had the job of driving Brian Cody to and from the Dublin/KK game this year. He got great gas out of it.

Ah yeah close game but just thought it was poor standard . Big win for Judes, I wouldnât say theyâve beaten their neighbours many times in senior hurling championship before
