It was heavy last Sunday, but still in very good nick.
Well after last Sunady there’s hope for mullickers everywhere!

ah yeah…mullickers don’t win munster club titles…that why toomevara have won so little in munster despite their dominance of tipp over the years…
Well done Puke I will now change my Signature accordingly.
Ballyboden beat Kilmacud Crokes 0-17 to 0-7 in a turgid affair in front of an Eircom league type attendance at Parnell Park to retain their Dublin SH title. ‘boden who knocked Wexford champions out of the Leinster championship last year are a decent outfit and aswell as being much physically stronger side were far superior in every aspect of the game. Crokes’ forward line didnt’ show up at all and the fact that they didn’t score from play until the 45th minute sums up their performance.

i hear that ballysteen won the limerick intermedite today by a couple of points well done to all involved…
clon got a bit of a clipping off sars today, while broadford beat templederry in the munster intermediate hurling championship…portumna beat gort with a bit to spare as well i hear…
saw a clip of the clon game - were you playing
were you expecting to be beaten?
stadium looked empty
in camogie Gerry adams daughter starred as o’donavan rossa beat ballyboden yesterday

we weren’t expected to be beaten by 16 points ncc…
in fairness today was probably our worst performance since we got relegated from senior back in 2005…we were very poor, everything we did was laboured compared to a sarsfields team that has had 4 weeks build up this game, fair play to them, they were sharp and focused and very composed, took some excellent scores…best of luck to them in the next round
every clon player was gutted that we didn’t show our true ability today, but our 4th tough game in as many weeks left the well fairly empty…
there was a couple of thousand at it, the main stand was the only one open and i would say that clonlara had more support than sars…

i was thinking it was a very fast turnaround in games for you - could the clare county board not structure the fixtures better or would you blame the munster council?
the tv cameras must have been in the main stand
Fuck it Puke it ws some year, enjoy.

I wouldn’t really blame anyone as it is 6 of one half a dozen of another…two rounds of the championship were delayed because clare were preparing for the munster final, then we drew with crusheen in the semifinal so a replay was needed…last year we only had a week before we played carrigtwohill in the munster intermediate and we beat them, but we had two weeks off prior to the county final…
it is just a bit of a downer after winning a county title to giv such a flat performance and i personally am disappointed that we didn’t get a proper chance to show how good a young side we are on a bigger stage…also it lets plenty of our rivals and knockers in the county say that the standard of the championship this year was poor and we are an average side(which is not the case)
did you play?

I’d say you took one look at the Carrig jerseys and didn’t need anymore inspiration to go on and beat them
Hard Luck Puke, i was at it. Ye looked tired in fairness, but even with a weeks break ye wouldn’t have beaten Sars yesterday. They were awesome, some of their players have really moved on from winning the county, and i’d say Robert O’ Driscoll is a marked man now. He has to play Cork U-21 next year. Cian McCarthy will also be there or there abouts. If Sars keep their heads they’ll be a very good club team for a number of years.
Sars brought on 5 former Cork Minors yesterday, 4 of them were Minor in the last 4 years. Thats impressive.
Thought the No.6 was unlucky to get a straight red for that incident, but he could have gotten about 6 yellows as it was, he scelped Fraggie Murphy a fair bit.
I’m not sure if you were judging the crowd on the roar (Clon did get a massive roar after i think their 4 point, which was a class score) but Sars totally outnumbered ye. They were a very young crowd, but i’d say about 6-1, honestly. The amount of kids out playing hurling at half time was hilarious. 3 kids from both sides had an impromtu game in from of us, it was great to see.
What did you think of Teddy Mac’s son?

hard to judge any player yesterday…the game was so open and lacked a real intensity…unusual for a clare team to go down to Cork and think they could outscore a Cork team in a shootout…would have thought they would have at least tried to keep it tight and as Cyril Farrell says ‘bring a bit of hip and a bit of whip’…
Did you really think it lacked intensity? Did you watch it on TV, because where i was sitting it was very intense until Sars pulled away just before half-time. The closed stand may have given that impression on TV, but there was plenty belting, harassing, hooking blocking etc in it for 25 mins. It did die after that.
Clonlara seemed happy enough to be County Champions once Sars upped the pace. Not that it was intetional i’m sure, but it’s just the way it happens almost to your body involentary after you have achieved your main aim for the year. The break Sars had was helpful.
Having seen Ballyduff last year i would give Sars a great chance of getting to the Final with the Semi-Final at home as well.

yeah just thought scoring chances were easily got in first half…everytime a lad beat his marker he was in space to slot it over the bar…Ryan had a field day standing around midfield waiting for the ball to come to him in an acres of space…though i did only watch it from the armchair…
Ya Ryan did clean up, but the Sars support play was superb, and the young fellas broke their balls making it easy for Ryan, who is a very accurate player.
As for getting away from your man and scoring in space, it’s called speed, something i know nothing at all about!!!
The next game will be alot tougher though i would say.
