nice one, haven’t read any reports except the result.
didn’t see it as i’m in thailand.
st finbars are playing us down in kilmihil on sunday, a serious challenge no doubt, i believe they were suprisingly relegated from senior last year and would be considered a strong senior team??
although we have plenty class on our team and held up well against any senior team we played in the league this year. home advantage always helps. go on kilmihil.
Yes there is only one Club, a Junior Club tried to set up there a while back but were strangled out of existence.
Portlaoise have won 10 of the last 12 Laois U21 titles and a fuckwad of Underage titles to boot in football.
Hurling is suffering in the town though, its too late for the minors of today, but they have at least begun to do something from U10 up a while back with the employment of a full time coach.
I would have thought most people had great respect for Mullane at this stage, i have to say he is the one Waterford guy that doesn’t wind me up with the jersey tearing and fist pumping, it’s a bit more genuine with him or something.
One of my favourite players over last couple of years, delighted for him and De La Salle.
Is that your club Hangblaa?

hard luck puke only heard the result there.[/quote]
I actually played against the Barrs this year, they are a very good side for Intermediate, but are certainly not a strong Senior side. They did well in the league and qualified for the semi-final of the Senior league, but got beaten by 14 points by Douglas 2 weeks ago with more or less the full team. They have some good young fellas coming through and on a big open pitch (Pairc i Caoimh where they beat a big St. Vincents team easily) they would beat alot of Intermediate teams easily. But i would worry about them away in Kilmihil, especially if the weather ain’t great.
They will be back near the top of Senior in next few years, but getting to league semi’s in Cork isn’t a great indication of things really, they had more or less a full team all year in the league, nobody else has that. They did add Ronan Curran, and he (on his day) is a class footballer. But they should leave him in full forward, when he comes out he doesn’t work that hard and i have seen teams run at them and cause huge problems. Their full back line is very suspect to long ball, they flap alot.
I give Kilmihil a great chance, and thats without having a clue about the standard of Clare Intermediate football.
Its been a long week Puke, but best foot forward as they say. One match away from another final, so we will be giving it everything. They seem to be a handy side though, and are obviously taking this very serious, Teddy Mac was spotted at the county final.
Still Pat Ryan wont have it as handy as he did against ye from Phelan and our backs are very tight, so there is a chance.
in fairness Sars are cute hoors, they had everything tactically spot on against us…twasn’t just a case that they outhurled us…Very hard with the weeks turn around hope ye give a good account of yourselves…
Well, Limerick champions Adare sent the hacketmen of Toomevara packing yesterday. I didn’t see the game but from reading reports it sounds like Eoin Brislane tried to cut Conor Fitz in half late on in it.
Serious win for De La Salle. Really enjoyed this game and DLS fully deserved their win. All the county players helped them, but Brian Phelen was brilliant, 2 monster points and cleaned out midfield. Him and Conan Watt are a serious partnership.
Hard luck Sars
De La Salle edged out Sars in an epic encounter yesterday and they now go on and face a Ger “sparrow” O Loughlin inspired Adare team in the Munster final…Eoin Brislian was up to his usual tricks for Toomevara yesterday with one of the cowardliest pulls seen on a hurling field late on…
Ballyhale will play Birr in the Leinster decider…
Kilmihill beat a fancied St Finbarrs side to book a place in the munster intermediate football final…great result for them and clare football in general…
Clonlara beat Tulla on a scoreline of 11 points to 1-6 to win the Clare champion cup yesterday also…
the dirtiest blow iv seen at a match in a long time, no shame in the man though he walked off smiling after attemting to butcher 2 players he was like a man possessed flailing the timber like that.
a shame that it became the talking point after a good adare win

only saw the incident this morning…cowardess of the highest order…the ball was long gone Brislain just turned and swung twice the second time catching fitzgerald across the ribs and rather than stand his ground and face the music with a load of Adare lads running in he did what all cowards do and ran as quick as he could away…I would like to say it was out of character for Brislain but it isn’t…pure filth
