Cheers Pike. TG4 it is then.
Its the largest parish in Munster, I’ll have ya know Blaa. Home of the best club football team in Munster despite the aberration in the Gaelic Grounds last winter. Some say the skills that KIB players display on a regular basis can be attributed back as far as the Spanish Armada crashing ashore off West Clare. Spanish blood seeped into the boroughs of Quilty, Mullagh and Coore creating a DNA of footballing excellence, the rest is history.
Whats the story with the next Matty Forde that Wexford were supposed to have brought back from Australia. Seems like he was taken off the last day.
wasnt ‘brought back’ at all, his year was just about up and he came home himself. and he was playing wing back. he started centre forward against Armagh and had a decent game. Very versatile player, played a lot underage with county and schools as a third midfielder, but more of a sweeper around half back.
As NCC would say, I’m sure there was a few quid in it for him to come back to the sunny southeast.
no, there wasnt. He was home since last May. He could have been back on the panel then but didnt think he would be around as he was planning on going back to Oz. But his club did well in championship and he ended up getting a decent job (in public sector too, nothing to do with GAA) so he rejoined the panel again.
Seems my wind up worked after all anyway Gman.
I see the Interprovincial Hurling semis are on this weekend too. Better off having them at this time of year.
Where are they on Pikey?
Connacht v Munster is on in Pearse stadium, Galway
Leinster v Ulster is on in Casement Park.
Both at 2.30 Saturday
Your quite the calculated genius.
Great opportunity here. Will be interesting to see if they get any bite from GAA fans. Would prefer if they were hyped a little more though. The GAA press office really leaves a lot to be desired.
Nah, you’re just aysy KIB
Just read that the InterPro Football semis won’t be played til October as usual.
Len Gaynor says he won’t approach any of the Cork 08 squad but might get 1 or 2 off the current panel.
So they haven’t changed the dates for the finals then or what?
INTERPROVINCIAL HURLING: DESPITE THE incentive of playing for a free trip to Abu Dhabi, there have been the usual problems in assembling panels for the interprovincial hurling series. Part of the difficulty has been the hasty refixing of this years final from its familiar date in October to early March, with the two semi-finals down for this Saturday .
This came about as a result of Etihad Airways, one of the main sponsors of the hurling championship, offering to promote the hurling final this year in the United Arab Emirates. The football competition remains fixed for October, but in the meantime the four provincial managers in charge of hurling have been running around trying to assemble a panel on about two weeks notice.
Nice little early March break for the players, nothing wrong with that.
Interesting to see the 08 boys being left on the sideline, they played in last years games.
2 current Cork hurlers made the panel for Munster anyway.
Any bets lads? Cush on the handicap, I have been told…
What are the handicaps Sledge, as it looks like they will be very close and the 7/2 is very big about Cush, as a DLS man I am confident that we will win, but it will be very tight… -4 or better and cush would be a great betting prospect.
