Club championships

I don’t know how many there are, but ye have mentioned a few already. Its not just wexford by the way. Look at Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim etc, they have several players playing in Dublin as well.

Its no surprise that very few players leave from counties like Tipp, KK, Cork, Galway, Tyrone, Kerry etc.

Didnt he come on in Croke Park as well against Louth or Laois? The most successful thing he did was to hand pass the ball over the sideline.

So have you a mileage cut off point where it’s Ok, according to you, not to play for your home club kev?
Is it 150Km? 151 Km maybe?
I barely remember his name because he was/is a non entity but apparently the best footballer in Clare.
Don’t know where you’re going with the attempted insult (unless you yourself are this Dwyer lad and If you are I apologise that you couldn’t make the step up in Wexford)

Don’t know how Travers is telling his club to go fuck themselves. I’m sure he thought he’d give it a go with a superior and a Senior club (Gorey are a poor intermediate team) in Dublin and it so happened where he was living was one of the best senior teams in Leinster. It’s a pity he transferred but I don’t think he’s telling Gorey to go fuck themselves and helps whatever way he can as his brothers still play there.
Yer defending of this is laughable. How is his brothers playing got anything to do with him, how is he helping the club? By not getting them up there as well.
Jokers.

Tis just one hurler. One is less than a few.

when i left my homeplace over 12 years ago i didn’t have it in me to wear some other places jersey.
i couldn’t pretend

Think Travers is also involved in some coaching with Naomh Eanna and possibly in Gorey Community School. Think Gorey got to the Community Games Hurling Finals and he got involved with them somehow as well. Just because he hurls with Ballyboden doesnt mean he’s forgotten his roots.

You couldn’t pretend or you couldn’t get one?

IS that all you can say “your defending is laughable”.
It’s obvious he’d help Gorey if he can, especially with his brother’s playing there.
IT’s not the Rock or anything going against Daddy Rock.

Probably just bought a sat nav

Read the whole post Pike, again your trying to make things black and white, and ignoring most of what i said.

N11 or the Bypass I’d say.
I was trying to get involved in the local community, i had planned to stay there. I started with coaching and travelling down for a while, but had to work weekends on shift, so once i started missing games it was pointless. Plus Arklow is a good bit further driving than Dublin-Cork.

Ye Wexford lads are very sensitive today.

Maybe if your players were more loyal to your clubs they would do better as a county team.;)
The Wexford CB should show a bit of leadership and instruct the senior management only to pick players who play for Wexford clubs. They wouldnt be long seeing those transfer forms winging their way back. Wexford to Dublin is no distance FFS. The two lads concerned wouldnt be a huge loss from what I’ve seen or if they are, it says it all.

Irish rugby had a similar problem but the IRFU showed a bit of balls and the majority of the players came home. Murphy and Reddan’s international careers have suffered for the greater good.

I read the thing. I see you’re ignoring my question, something you’ve accused me of (wrongly) in the past.

Great auld afternoon of entertainment on here lads…Keep up the good work:)

That was a disaster of a post for you there KIB. I’ll allow another attempt.

There’s an element of truth in that no doubt. You’re taking a serious risk of losing some players at county level as well though. Especially with Dublin on the way up and Wexford on the way out.

A guy gets expenses to come home to play for his county, which i presume he does. Yet he won’t give up the petrol money to go back for his club. Come on now lads, ye are really pissing against the wind here.

Christ lads, it’s not just about hurling and football - these lads have personal lives too. Travers and Morrissey live and work in Dublin and I don’t have any qualms with them playing for clubs up here if that’s what they want to do. They’re already committed to training and playing with their county team and I guess training and playing for Dublin clubs cuts down on travel considerably. Maybe they want to be home from club training at a reasonable hour so they’re in decent form to dick their respective birds or something. I wouldn’t accuse them of treachery or anything of the sort.

No birds in Wexford worth dicking or what?
