Coffee thread, aka a thread for spoofers

I’ve reached a point in my coffee odyssey where I’m relying more on skill and knowledge than beens and equipment. It’s bean a bit of an epiphany really.

It was as far as they could get

If you bought beans you’d do even better.

Stop bean clever

If you’re not drinking anaerobically processed coffee you’ve basically wasting your time. It’s unrale…think cream of celery soup, fresh sourdough, irish whiskey and porter

From root and branch in Belfast. Silly price but worth it

How’s she working out harry?

The finest…

Finding the right bean & getting the grounds right is the key.

Aye…the grind thing is a melter. Theres a hape of lads charging a tenner for 200g. Youd want to be getting your machine dialled in fairly sharpish…or just stick to one or two brands.

Yreat yourself sometime and try some anaerobic coffee. Mad stuff.

I get free Greggs with my bank card, bizarrely.

It’s unreal. I just go into places, tap my bank card on the machine and they give me free stuff.

anaerobic coffee?

Indeed. Part of processing coffee is washing the flesh of the berry from the beans… You can let the flesh rot, dry in the sun, be digested by cats etc. I assume anaerobic coffee means sealing the coffee in an oxygen free environment and letting bacteria get to work…every method imparts some sort of flavour, as does the environment, terroir etc. Its definitely not a gimmick and the difference isn’t remotely subtle… that said ive only tried the variety i steered the forum towards earlier

interesting…

have my sage a year now, one of the best things i bought for the house

The machine had been limping along for the last year or so- pump seizing, leaks from the exhaust and lever, low pressure etc. A dispiriting affair really. New pump installed and all the valves and gaskets replaced, easier than feared
As good as new
