What are you trying to achieve with these scales, apart from weighing coffee?
What else would a scales do?
making coffee without a scales is like baking a cake without a scales.
Would you measure flour by eye.
Me mother could bake a loaf of brown bread without a’er a scales.
He’s obviously gone into selling coke
Thanks to Holohan and his cronies
Are you filling a filter basket on a grownup machine/moka pot or aeropress? If that’s the case then how fine your grind is, what coffee you’re using and humidity are key. Filling the basket and levelling it off without initially ramping should be a more accurate guide than a gram or two either way
@backinatracksuit I picked up a big Badger&Dodo Blackwater in Habit last week.
A bit bland to be honest. The Ethiopia was far superior.
There’s also a new coffee shop open on Catherine St called Fika, a small unit so more geared towards take away. Going by the window they have bags from West Cork Coffee and Bean from Dingle for sale.
Just opened a b&d blackwater. I like it but I don’t like very rich/bitter coffee
anyone have a Sage Cofee machine?
No but I’m eyeing up a moccamaster.
If you’re spending that sort of money you should read this. A decent machine could last a lifetime but you’d want to be able to get parts and someone to service it. There are plenty of people servicing the professional machines, yours should be basically the same system
Blue Butterfly Yopo is unreal.
Having a scag day?
What sort of immediacy does it have ?
Lots, right from the get go!
I’m not messing around here, I was right about the school in Carlow, I was right about now and I’m right about this coffee
You were wrong with the name of the shop though? TFK Max?
I know. It was tk max, but I thought I’d try and be clever for a change.
