You seem to know a lot about coffee, how is that stuff so cheap, and how could it be better than freshly roasted beans?
I find the difference between say lavazza beans or anything from a supermarket and beans roasted in Ireland and used within a few weeks to be night and day,
but i don’t know anything about coffee, just what I like

Hey buddy. It’s usually about 30 euro in italy. Tk max seem do end of line, remaindered stuff etc and they often have 1kg bags of various brands that are usually sold in Italy… where it’s hard to get away with bad coffee.
The lavazza in Italy is definitely not the bitter rubbish they sell here…it might be well intentioned though as a more bitter coffee does better in the milky drinks paddy prefers. Bitter coffee is also a lot cheaper for the roasters to buy

I suspect the water has more do do with it than the beans

There’s a business idea in that :face_with_monocle:

They were selling this off for €2.89 in Aldi this morning. I’ve been drinking it for the last few months and it’s great tack, so I bought all the remaining packs.

Retails for €8 per pack on Velo’s own website

You greedy bastard.

I’m sure there is some cunt taking all the chilli tortillas out of the midleton branch

Give me a gander of the machine your making the coffee with.

I’m sick to my bollocks of those luke warm coffees from that cunt of a Nespresso

Buy yourself an aeropress for 30 euro

Guide me bro

You’ll get one handy on amazon

Add a decent burr grinder for another 50

Job is oxo

Talk to me about burr grinders. What should I be looking for? I got the Aeropress as a gift in Dec and it’s a game changer.

Is buying ground coffee shit compared to whole beans?

This is what i have
DeLonghi Coffee Grinder | KG79 | Black | Ireland (harveynorman.ie)

it doesn’t burn the beans while grinding as often happens with spinning blades, a great job, will grind to whatever consistency you want

Fresh beans are best @carryharry, beans roasted in the last few days will be available in all good coffee shops, Nespresso is shit, good beans are pricy though, be prepared to pay 10e+ for 250g of good beans

Burr is regarded as better than blade grinder. But more expensive. You can get an electric burr grinder on Amazon. The grinder allows you adjust the size of the grind depending on what you are using it for. They are handy to use and not messy

It’s not shit as you’ll buy freshly ground coffee from a decent coffee place

Buy ideally buy the beans

Once you grind coffee it starts to oxidise so freshly ground will be nicer but I’d grind a few days worth at a time as it’s just handier than grinding beans every time you want a coffee.

I just use a cafetiere and ground coffee. Very convenient, I may invest in a machine in the future but no real desire for it at the moment.
