Cork GAA 2014

three to be precise, and off the top of your head you can`t name a single player between 18 and 25 in cork that you are confident would be better than joyce and egan

I think Christopher Joyce and William Egan will be fine players for Cork in time.I refuse to believe that in a county of Corks size that they aren’t a few potential half backs that can catch the ball.

indeed, but you cant name any . egan is as good as he is going to be and thats just shy of good enough and joyce has massive work to do on his aerial game

Nobody knows how good Egan could be. Nobody thought Brendan Bulger was that great for a while either. Players develop at different rates.

True.

Is this the greatest all ireland winning acceptance speech ever?

There is rumours about Eoin Cadogan coming back to the hurlers. That would be great news if it’s true.He wasn’t perfect as a number 6 but that run for Clares first goal in the all ireland replay would have been stopped at source if Cads was around!I’d like to see a half back line combination of Lorchan McLoughlin on one wing if Aidan Walsh can establish himself at midfield.Cads at centre back if he is back with the hurlers. If he isn’t i’d go with Stephen McDonnell at number 6 and either Christopher Joyce or William Egan on the other wing.I’d love to see Shane O’Neill in the half back line if we can find a more natural full back to take his place there. The structure of our defence and whether we fill in the holes that are there will make or break our year because i think were okay for firepower in the forwards.

I’d kove to see that useless ape cadogan back for cork. There is one lad that the clare forwards would really take to the cleaners. I hope the rumours are true

Is all this a wind up or are you really that thick?

Anthony Daly 1995 pal

Connolly for Galway in 1980 for me

Sean og and willie o connor the worst ones

Did he try to come back for the AI final replay ?

Stephen McDonnell at 6 ? Jesus wept

No, don’t be a tool.

It’s encouraging to hear the players state in media interviews over recent months their disappointment about how the year ended up.The defeats in the munster final and all ireland final are annoying them more than their annoying us and i think the way we had an all ireland snatched from under our noses will drive them on next year. The winners of ourselves and Limerick should be the promotion decider.Hopefully we’ll find a few half back options during the league to increase the competition for places in that area and then it’s ourselves and the neighbours from across the Youghal bridge on May 22nd.That will be a tough game but we proved last year that we can beat any team in the country and then after hopefully winning that we can have another crack at Clare!Of course as Clare and ourselves proved this year losing in munster isn’t the end of the world but i want to go through the front door.Everyone expects us to fall back into the pack next year. They have us written off as one season wonders but there’s only 1 answer that we can give to those people.

Cadogan definitely back for hurlers.

Whatever about number 6 Cads will add some serious drive and aggression to a half back line that is in desperate need of those qualities wherever he is played.I’d like to see a half back line of Shane O’Neill on one wing.Cads in the centre and let William Egan, Christopher Joyce, Lorchan McLoughlin and Jamie Nagle fight it out for the other wing back slot.Between this news and Aidan Walsh coming on board i have to say im really looking forward to next year and please god Paudie O’Sullivan will be ready for the Waterford match.Of course i hope the lad’s on the management team learn from the sideline lesson that Crazy Davy gave them during both all ireland finals and im not talking about the jigs and reels and the throwing shapes when i say that!

Oh and that Dublin match was a great game of hurling and we also played some great stuff during parts of the drawn all ireland final and the replay.I just loved the way we hit Clare with three great goals out of nowhere in the drawn game to drag us right back into contention. It was like watching the late 80’s and early 90’s Cork team. That finish to that match was crazy.Pa Cronins goal.Hoggies point and then they got their equalizer. It’s a shame that we didn’t fucking hold out when we got ahead of them.We showed great heart and character as well in the replay. It was a pity about those soft goals though. We were just chasing them all fucking day.All in all bring on 2014 even if im not sure that the news about Aidan Walsh and Eoin Cadogan going down the dual player route is good for Cork football.
