Cork GAA 2014

I presume you make an exception for the soggy biscuit.

No. What is your point?

The inference from several posters is that only an idiot would take it on. Its mostly jealously of course.

The inference is not that he shouldn’t take it on. It is that he shouldn’t take it on if he doesn’t want to take it on, as has been suggested by Turenne.

i would rarely agree with kevin but you did clearly state that not getting involved would allow pa o callaghan to have a life.

so in three or four years time when say alan cadogan with far less talent than callaghan is being chased around the place by cracking young ones in reardons he will bemoan the fact that he didn`t get to sit on a bar stool in charleville every weekend trying to grab the nearest muffin top at half two in the morning while her friends haul her the other direction.
its a major major sacrifice alright

have any of you lads ever even spoken to an intercounty player in their mid twentys in your life i wonder?

No, that’s not what you said. You said he’d have a life if he choose not to play. That infers those that do commit don’t have a life. An that’s some of the saddest and most ignorant thinking I have seen. To many here, having a life, is going on the piss whenever you want. Believe me that’s a shit life.

Anyone who is playing but doesn’t want to is a fool, but they would be a tiny minority. The vast majority of these lads made the decision, sometimes subconsciencely, that they were going to be a county player around the age of 11/12 up to 16. There are a few anolomies to that who just ghost in, but those types certainly don’t do it against their will.

It becomes a way of life, a very healthy and rewarding one. The few who bitch and moan get air time cos it gets attention, but the fact is that’s all they are doing, whinging.

Youghal, Midleton and the Gaelscoil won in the Harty. Charleville and Colmans lost.

A recently retired player is joining hurling backroom team

now that is a stunning revelation. Imagine that. a recently retired player joining the back room. who could have believed such a thing was possible.

Pat Mul I assume.

Castlemartyr finally make it through to the county Junior final. 2-14 to 0-15 in the semi replay v Cloughduv

Maybe he will. But another player is getting nnvolved who will I think be a great addition.

You have an awful attitude towards young hurlers, you have some perverse sense of expectancy for every talented hurler to entertain you.

What about it if the kid wants to enjoy his life.

there you go again.

is it utterly impossible for you to project your thoughts beyond filling your neck with drink in the same pub week after week listening to the same sh1te being talked by the same spanners, getting in to rows in chippers over skipping the queue and then rooting around in the passenger seat of a hatchback with a young one that will deny doing it with you as furiously as you will deny her.

maybe, just maybe these lads actually enjoy pushing themselves to the limits of their abilitys to get the very best out of themselves.
living your life by a code of behaviour that requires high standards seems beyond your comphrehension

You judgemental prick, who is to say the life you espouse as high standard is any greater than the one you deride? Given you’ve been arrested in a few countries for fighting and acting like a thug you have some neck to be judging anyone you horrible bastard.

While I agree with your sentiment, I have a small feeling BW is in fact a county player.

any idea what countries we are talking about.
I am getting a bit worried at this point that i may be Jason Bourne all of a sudden. though the upside of that is that you may be in severe personal danger from me as distinct from simply being utterly infuriated

anyway back to the point you simpleton.

i am simply saying that lads who decide to commit to playing hurling or any other pursuit at the best level they can should not be derided as missing out on life by individuals who recommend the soft road.

mr bw is eespousing of the opposite view. that no one who makes that choice has a life. His view appears to be that any choice that restricts you being able to drink and slouch on the couch or whatever is giving up a life whatever that means.

you are an awful idiot god love you
