Cork GAA 2016

Looks like neither Midleton nor Newtown will be in the race for senior hurling, both teams missing loads last night. Clifford and Coughlan gone for Newtown while Midleton had 6 subs listed and were starting lads that usually play junior. Midleton won well in the end anyway.

Dripsey is a great name for a club. It sounds like an STD.

What’s going on here, J1’s or something more sinister?
How could a club like Midleton only send out a panel of 21?

IIRC there was some hassle regarding managerial appointments before, but that was maybe two years back. Patrick O’Mahony is the only ‘big name’ lad absent tbf. I didn’t recognise anyone on the bench.

The Glen in the Feile final today against Bandage’s lot.

i was at castlehaven and CIT last night in the football
miserable stuff all round

Talk that county players are lying to their clubs about time they should be spending with their home teams. Players are saying they can’t train/play, delegates brought it up at a CB meeting and Frank said that the players were released to the clubs and anyone saying otherwise is lying! This is both football and hurling…

Useless lazy cunts alot of them. Not all mind you, but there is a culture of it.

Blackrock have a grand total of one player on the hurling squads.

Often that’s driven by IC management too, players are officially released to clubs but a word might had in the ear to advise them they would be better off not training or playing a league game “for their own good”.

This is true, although there does seem to be a genuine want within cork camps for players to be involved with clubs.
I would rend to think its more players in this case, but every case is probably different.

Douglas intermediates tonight anyone???

Beat Milford by a point.

Hassig and Kanturk beaten in the premier as well.

All 3 big surprises, but only Milford out. Not that surprising, they have been run into the ground by Stephan Molumphys brother since the first training session. 200 sprints done in first week/10 days.

You’d think that Kanturk would be able to hold their own at senior level, losing to Kilworth must be a huge shock.
Is the gulf that huge between their stars and the plodders?

Only one match in the Senior Hurling again this week, Avondhu and Bride this evening. Why the hold up, in previous years I thought it would be moving along a bit quicker?

There is alot of hassle between county players and their clubs, i believe we don’t know the half of it yet.

Kanturk suffer from not having a steady team. Rarely have full squad for league. People completely underestimate that preperation. They have another 4-5 excellent players and another 6/7 Junior players. I saw a bit of them last year. Walsh was destroyed by a very decent club but not spectacular lad from Mayfield last year. Nash didn’t want to know in same game despite being a serious footballer. McLoughlin is the only consistant player from the county players. Nash is a wanker and Walsh has no hunger.

Too many inter county players and not just in Cork think the hard work is done when they get the gear. That’s only the start of it. Does club form count for anything in Cork once the season gets going.

How many league club games would the county players play on average?

Footballers traditionally played most league games, hurlers not as much.
Although you would necer have county players for 1st 3-4 games of league.

Kilworth bouncing back from losing to Fermoy to sicken those Kanturk kunts was magnificent.
