How Bad.
You still get to hate Tipp.
How Bad.
You still get to hate Tipp.
Get yourself down to St Colmans Park, Cobh tomorrow night, kid
Colm Spillane out for the year, did his cruciate on Saturday night.
Tough blow for the lad.
Fucking Crossfit and physios doing S&C.
Moronic
2 games in and 3 hammy twars and an ACL. Thats astonishingly bad
Crossfit is booming.
Thats because there is lots of sheeple. Its very well marketed
Its actually loosing ground in the states now since all the injury reports came out.
But whats your point?
Support for Hitler boomed too, as it did for Trump. Does that make it ok?
Terrible indictment that the starting team against Tipp will most likely have no new players from last year or two. Maybe young Kingston will come in but seems a shortage of new talent
Will become fairly clear soon that JBM wrung everything he could from this bunch of players and they overachieved under him. KK should take a chance and bring in some younger lads who have no baggage and who you will get effort from and build on something for next year
Iâm just stating a fact. Nothing more.
An all Ireland final and a Munster title was a serious achievement.
An irrelevant fact
It could look a lot better in a few months too the way they are shaping up
Cork 21âs team
@caoimhaoin much expected of this team?
Basically now we have:
(a) A goalkeeper that is a mediocre shot-stopper playing to a short puck-out gameplan when he is a long puck-out specialist. If we are serious about short puck-outs, get Darren McCarthy in.
(b) Defenders that are slow, unable to go man-to-man and not much use with the ball beyond ballooning it on top of the opposing half-back line. Ill-suited to a short passing game, only Cahalane and Ellis can accurately pass the ball over short distances quickly.
Š Lightweight midfield that flutter in and out of games.
(d) Forwards that have no goal-scoring instincts whatsoever, canât win 50-50 ball and donât work anywhere near hard enough off the ball.
You can see they have a very clear plan - play it short, get Lawton/Kearney/McLoughlin to make offloads and get some momentum and work it into Harnedy/Horgan/Lehane in one on one positions. Problem is the defender canât use the ball and the forwards donât work for the battle when they donât have it.
It was hilarious listening to Anthony Daly say that the Cork forwards like it direct. As if any of them have the work-rate to win direct ball against a packed defence.
Ellis out now for 10 plus weeks with a broken arm. Will almost certainly mean Egan at 6 for TippâŚ
Not sure about Keeper.
Ok full back line.
Good half back line.
One excellent midfielder (White), who could play senior. One i know little about.
Half decent forward 6 with alot of size.
But you would have to wonder will they be able to do what they are best at. This management have not impressed me at all. They have been quite harsh on players, very difficult with clubs and other teams in their dealings and all that has a negative impact and lowers motivation. These guys still in the 80âs. So on paper at least this looks like a direct team. Move it fast and long. You can be sure they are coached into a running game or something.
So i expect nothing hoping to be surprised. There has been good Minor teams recently but have just not got over the line. They are behind Tipp & kerry though. No doubt about that.
Agree with everything but game plan.
I think they look confused. That means no plan.
I would put McDonell no.6. Doesnât have oace for anywhere else.
I looked at a recording of the match last night. I lived in Cork for a few years and consider them my second team.
I have to say I never saw a game where they looked in trouble all over the place.
A lot is made of Nashâs puck outs. When he went short the guys that got them either fumbled them and handed Dublin a score or hit stupid passes to no one in particular. When he went long I 'd say cork only won a handful of clean possessions. Its hard to view on Tv but there didnât seem to be a lot of movement up front.
The full back line - I thought the two corner backs were roasted. Esp McD. He does not have the pace for corner back and the defensive qualities for a back at all.
Joyce at full back . His touch was terrible which lead to easy Dub scores.
Half back line - Does anyone in Cork understand that you actually have to mark a Player. Your first responsibility is to win your own battle.
Kearney had a poor game by his standards and looked frustrated and gave up chasing. Mid fielders were absent on puckouts. There should be picking up the breaks but they seemed 10 yards away for the ball when it broke.
Cooper tries hard but is a workhorse, Whoever tasked him with the free role needs to be given a role with the footballers as they havenât a clue about hurling. Can Cork please revert to man for man marking also.
In the forwards Harnedy is excellent but the work rate of the others is deplorable. They all want to be given the loose ball but fuck all want to work for it.
For all that they are a talented group but they want it easy.
RANT OVER
Hard to argue with any of it.
According to the Echo:
-> Dean Brosnan and Niall Cashman added to the squad.
-> Ellis, Walsh, Cian Mac out injured and Cadogan suspended for KK game.
-> Conor OâSullivan back from injury.
-> Stephen Murphy likely to start.
