Cork GAA - They're going home! - sponsored by Sports Direct and Super Valu

Possible way teams could match up. Wouldn’t mind seeing Cathal O’Neill or Kyle Hayes start. Hayes has very little hurling done and would be some sub to have come on. If he starts I can see him back up in the forwards but instead on who

  1. Patrick Collins Nicky Quaid
  2. Niall O’Leary Graham Mulcahy
  3. Rob Downey Seamus Flanagan
  4. Sean O’Donoghue Aaron Gillane
  5. Tim O’Mahony Gearoid Hegarty
  6. Mark Coleman Tom Morrissey
  7. Ciaran Joyce Cian Lynch
  8. Darragh Fitzgibbon William O’ Donoghue
  9. Ger Millerick Darragh O’Donovan
  10. Robbie O’Flynn Diarmuid Byrnes
  11. Seamus Harnedy Declan Hannon
  12. Conor Lehane Dan Morrissey
  13. Jack O’Connor Sean Finn
  14. Shane Kingston Mike Casey
  15. Hoggy Barry Nash

If Cork start with Rob Downey at full back again, I will be most pleased

If they start him anywhere you’d have to be pleased. He’s not up to it.

I’ve a feeling Cian lynch will be named at 14 for Limerick this year.

He might get away with it to an extent at HB. He’ll be astroyed in full back

I think he needs to be at CF to get through as much ball as possible

A good weekend for the hurlers and footballers. I heard an interview on Newstalk during the week, where the interviewee was saying that a lot of people wouldn’t travel from west cork to watch the football. Is there no venue that could host league game west of Clonakilty? Though he was referring to the Down game, so already a fair trip for the Down squad to Cork city.

He is an excellent half back imho

Why would you need to go west of clonakilty?

I presume because that’s where all the football people are

If they wouldn’t come as far as clonakilty they will go nowhere

Thats rubby country these days.

Can we all just agree on one thing - CORK ARE BACK!

He’s only 31, no reason he can’t still be at or near his peak. Even if he’s slowing a touch there’s surely space for him in a team full of greyhounds?

If limerick have Cian Lynch full forward things are either going really well or really badly.

Thats always the way with Limerick. Either flying it (usually accompanied with sweltering heat) or depression (most other days).

I know this is the Cork threat but the chances of Kyle not starting are about 0.

For Cork, it looks like most of the team is fairly set in stone.

DOL vs Downey at FB.
Does Downey lose out completely if he doesn’t get in at FB, even though I do think he’s a good HB, TOM & Joyce are surely nailed-on?

Harnedy vs Lehane

Luke Meade seems to be a bit out of favour this season.

With the way the championship is set up Limerick have wriggle room.

Hayes at 11 and lynch at 14 will definitely be a curve ball and the management tried a lot of players in the league and not many put their hands up.

Taking Hayes out of the backs is a risk but English would start for most county teams.

I think If you created room in front of lynch he could be unplayable in there.

It’s worth a try imo.
