Agreed, no cork club within a mile of a Munster club.

Begs the question did Nash retire or was he retired.

I get that Cork needed a clear out, but itā€™s strange to clear out lads who were on or near the starting team this year imo. Thereā€™s probably another 15 lads inside there who Kingston obviously thought were worse than them because he didnā€™t give them game time. So whatā€™s changed? Why not leave them on the panel but put them further down the pecking order and drop the dross he thought were worse than them

Kingston is pinning his hopes on a bit of this :point_up_2:, mixed with a prayer, a bit of holy water & Ballymaloe relish.

Because some lads who have been regulars for years donā€™t want to put in the time and effort to be bit part players. Can lead to a split in the camp and drain morale too.

Better a clean break and blood some of the younger fellas. They mightnā€™t be good enough but better for Cork to have them live and die on the pitch rather than drift away because Lehane and Joyce got further opportunities in which they would be the same players they have been for the last 7 or 8 years.

Weā€™re years away from anything

Born in the wrong county

Who?

If Kerry win at the weekend does this new Cork panel have to play them in a promotion/relegation play-off?

Pa Horgan, he should have a few medals at this stage and deservedly so

Theyā€™re talking about the young lad from ballinhassig whoā€™ll replace Nash in goals

Iā€™m surprised at the Lehane call, unless his legs are going or something. He is a better player than most of the forwards on the panel. I donā€™t think Cork have much immediately coming that are in his league. Part of the challenge of management is to get the most out of guys like that.

The issue with Cork all along has been a lack off ball winning/dominant players down the spine of the team and some backs and workmanlike forwards that were WAY off the standard. Thatā€™s not Lehaneā€™s chargeā€¦Even if he could graft a bit more.

Lehane is far too inconsistent. I canā€™t remember when he has played well two games in a row in the championship

When have cork last played 2 good games ?

Ah yeah saw him with CIT a while back, his brothers not bad either

Great player but theyā€™re carrying him defensively as much as anyone and Iā€™ve seen him cleaned out plenty of times over the years. Tough to play with in ways.

Well thatā€™s when you want him stepping up, when things arenā€™t going well
