Did Downey play well???
His direct oppent Shanagher was ā€¦well it wasnā€™t his best day. Was that up to Downey ā€¦not really.
Tony Kelly went in for the last 10 minutes and threatened to do wreck. That he didnā€™t you could put down to Downey but not really. He was fine. Considering Cork gave him fuck all opportunity at full back to date he was successful.

If Dan Morrissey played like that theyā€™d be raving.

He made what seemed on first viewing to be a match winning block/save late on but might have just hit him.

Clare hit some bad wides when they were getting a bit of momentum. But goals win games and there are goals in Cork. Not good if four of your starting six forwards are taken off though. Gradually finding out their best team.

Very debatable that they are ā€œfinding outā€ their best team, other than Cadogan canā€™t play anymore. Other than that I think theyā€™ll start with the same attack and empty the bench at the 50 and 60 minute mark.

How do they not think Alan Connolly isnā€™t worth a start :man_shrugging:

They do, him and Barrett are needed for impact off the bench. Mind you at least one will start the next day.

As an aside, I get the distinct feeling Connolly is of the Patrick Horgan ā€œIā€™m not arsed working off the ballā€ ilk.

Cahalane out next week, Cadogan 50/50. - per Kingston.

Yeā€™ll still have to much for Dublin

Iā€™d be excepting both cork and Waterford to come through their assignments next weekend. Iā€™d also expect both to beat Kilkenny in a semi final.

Is there any sort of guidelines to how many will be in Croker for the semi finals?

Eh, canā€™t we draw Tipp?

You can

Theyā€™ll draw Dublin though. In the famous words of Frank Murphy

ā€œSanta will bring them what they want. This oneā€™s on meā€

Cork have about a 1 in 10 shot of beating KK. They have a much better chance again Limerick. The performance of ā€œFitzyā€ was nothworthy yesterday. The cunt barely touched the weight of the ball four times but lasted till the 70th minute. Non existant work rate doesnt matter if you hit the odd long range super point. Sums up Cork hurling.

Cant understand your logic behind that one. By the way Iā€™m not saying that Cork canā€™t/wonā€™t beat Limerick. Iā€™d just like to understand the reasoning behind your statement.

KK are a load of mollockers ala Galway, Cork canā€™t deal with teams like that. Limerick will beat us handily as well.

Fitzgibbon was rubbish yesterday but our midfield options on the bench were a lad in his 30s coming back from an injury and a lad who barely played in the league who the management clearly donā€™t rate very much.
