Thank God the Leinster Council don’t think agree with @caoimhaoin. Watch that space.
All Laois games to be moved to the 120,000 capacity Stadia D’Rosslare

That’s about as daft as what is being proposed for cork!

God bless Cork and all who hail from her.

Do you still consider yourself a cork person seeing as you got out of it?
Difficult to move any big games from Croke Park because of the premium tickets and corporate boxes - sold on basis of access to those games
Won’t happen until those current tickets expire and then Croke Park will fight tooth and nail to preserve them

you end up with Limerick, Killarney, Semple (assume it will be redeveloped) and Cork - four sub standard stadiums that are not modern or close to best in class

that is one province - same in other provinces

Casement Park in Belfast as a 38,0000 all seater covered on 3 sides (assume it will get go ahead) is the exception
Casement is another waste of money.

There’s nothing wrong with Clones and it’s a far more convenient venue.

Good win for Cork in the minor hurling last night, they’d have to be favourites for Munster I’d say. Tipp didn’t look great

Douglas are producing some forwards, surely have to be in the reckoning for the county this year.

You would think so but there is an eternal tug of war going on there.

I spoke to coach of a dual senior club recently an he said these days it’s like looking after a divisional side it’s so hard to organize and he at most sees the bulk of the squad 1-2 times a fortnight. They keep training and have reasonable numbers, but of genes ine senior options it’s often as low as 4-5 players regularly as they are playing hurling/Cork senior or underage et. Etc.
clubs like Nemo, SARS, Middleton, Newtown all have significant advantages.

True, Douglas going out of the football early would give them a great chance although since they failed to beat the Glen last year you would have to wonder what the story is with them. On paper Douglas should be hammering the Glen.

Agreed.
The Glen are about to captipulate. They don’t have great people running them and are still relying on a lot of old players as well as losing loads of talent. The underage is a mess and the football side Nicks is even worse. They may well go down in both over next 2-3 years.
Themselves and Piarsaigh have wasted huge amounts of talent.

On that match up itself though, that’s a clash if cultures. Douglas are very middle-upper class, the Glen mix it with them and make it physical and bring them down. Douglas don’t have enough of that.

Glen had a couple of excellent Minor teams recently. Douglas will probably have the best group of forwards in the county this year but aren’t as good in the backs.

Interesting to see that two Murrays from Cappoquin joined Blackrock recently.

Not being looked after well though.

Judging by their county final performance you could be right.

These Murray lads good?

Afaik there are like four or more of them up there and I’m not sure which ones are switching.

Fionan Murray played a bit underage with the county, won a munster minor in 09, nice hurler but a windy fucker
He’s younger brother gone too played centre back with Cappoquin last year meant to be good
They’re aul lad managed Cappoquin last year and was ousted this year and there was a big split in the club so the 2 brothers are after high tailing it…think there is another 2 brothers still with Cappoquin

The biggest crowd at a club league game in Cork and i would think Ireland this year will be in Balllyhea on Sunday to see Ballyhea play Newtown at Senior level for the first time in 12 years. Newtown will be short Cork tied Jamie Coughlan and also have to contend with a host of injuries. It is likely that a Pa O’Callaghan inspired Ballyhea will take the honours in what should be a keenly contested battle.
