Cork’s Munster Senior Hurling Championship victory 2025

Coughlan is Connolly.

There’s a ferocious insecurity to the @Limerix even after the glory years. I dunno is it even worse with the oul lads who should really know better

As always, a big thank you to all who post during and after the match, it makes for tremendous reading back home after the days travel.

I hear Noel Connors kept referring to Limerick as The Champions on the live broadcast. Ouch.

You’d wonder is it some form of imposter syndrome and why, the constant need for validation. You can almost smell their need to be loved a mile away.

They won 4 in a row but the insecurities persist. Its like they are some fella in middle age that cant come to terms with aging who spends half his time on sunbeds and the other half booking multiple trips to Turkey to get the veneers and hair plugs installed. He thinks people will like him more for it.

Maybe one of the lads with a makey-uppy doctorate could look into it in more detail

Ah they’re not. They’re much older bar Adam English and The Bull O’ Brien. More like Kilkenny post 2010 or Dublin footballers after 2021 but with a more taxing provincial championship.

The Tippos and Clare lads are getting antsy again

Tippos have another week of bullishness before they start doffing the cap to Cork for the remainder of the Championship

Bubbles was unreal in 2014 and 2016. That goal he scored against Kilkenny in the 16’ final destroyed the Cody KK aura and opened the door for everyone else to win after. Similar to James O’ Donoghue in the football who was quality during that same timeframe too but his body didn’t allow him to do it for as long as others. Tipp have plenty of athletes now like Alan Tynan but the problem is they don’t have enough snipers.

They should get a room

Yeah not enough snipers but they’re coming.
Bubbles had a decent intercounty career in terms of longevity too. He was still highly instrumental in 2019 especially the AI final. His influence waned after the Tipp capitulation to Limerick in that Covid Munster final in Pairc Ui Caoimh but suitably he got a cracker of a goal that day too. Finished with 1-3 from play. Changes of management and ineffective man management styles probably put pay to the rest of it. Only Sheedy knew how to get the most out of him.

Maybe but there’s muscle memory there when it comes to winning .that counts for a lot

I noticed a new member of the Limerick backroom team at the final whistle. A security detail who showed some serious pace getting out on to the pitch to whisk Kyle away.

Oh for sure they could win another two maybe. But Cork are coming like a train and Tipp will one in the next 5 or 6 years as well by all accounts. Limerick will surely suffer a fall off when the mid-90’s born lads eventually wane and retire. It has all the hallmarks of how Kerry sucked everything out of the golden generation until 86’.

I thought Limerick were impressive there, as expected.

They were far too slick and physical.

You can’t play Limerick withdrawing forwards. Limerick are too good at working the ball and finding space if they are given the opportunity. De Búrca covered nothing in front of the FB line really. In fairness, Limerick didn’t get any clear cut goal chance, but Limerick don’t mind that.

Waterford have a couple of players below this standard. Not sure what Mahony is doing there.

Mark Fitzgerald is a top class player now.

Great to see @glasagusban let everyone know he actually attended a Limerick match for the first time

Sure he doesn’t know any of the other player’s names, but what harm bless him

Did you fight anyone?
