What about the VARIANTS though?
We have to get ahead of the variants or weâre at nothing
We need to anticipate how a virus will mutate and cut it off
All their elderly have been killed off.
So have Irelands.
No such place any more. Much like Texas, Florida and Mississippi, it was wiped out by not having a lockdown
No, Sweden have something like 3 or 4 times the number of fatalities. Thatâs not to say our numbers are good. Swedenâs neighbours have far better numbers, unknown why Sweden didnât avail of the same advantages as Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Something like 3 or 4 times is disconcertingly vague.
Can you actually publish verified data?
Why donât you you look it up for yourself?
Sweden have 1300 deaths per million of population. We have 920.
Heâs the one who said it, the onus is on him to substantiate it. I know you have a real issue with sticking to facts rather than emotive opinion.
Ooofffttt. Much more elderly population too.
He said it. Go fact check it there for yourself. Itâs freely available information for you to look up if you have the wit. Then you could continue to debate with him as an informed observer rather than as someone who doesnât know anything and has no relevant information to contribute.
No itâs 3 or 4 times as many.
He is the one making the claims so he should have the facts at hands.
Your stance is in insightful to how you operate. If you say something you should be able to stand over it, you usually run off when you have your views challenged. You need to up your game if you want your arguments to have credibility.
As @Fagan_ODowd pointed out I was right to question Mike as it looks like he was talking out his arse.
Itâs also inaccurate. As of yesterday Sweden has 13,315 deaths and Ireland 4,588, so X2.9.
Thereâs also population to take into account (x1.4 deaths per capita) and the fact Sweden has an older population than Ireland, 20% are over 65 compared to Irelandâs 14% (also a factor of X1.4).
Ireland and and Sweden have had almost exactly the same % of their over 65s die of Covid, obviously the longest lockdowns in Europe were well worth it.
Bailed out again. Lucky you had Fagan to spoon feed you, for a guy who likes to debate, your inability to inform yourself is astounding.
I do find it a bit weird that Sweden is always compared to their Scandi neighbours but rarely to the rest of Europe. Guess it depends what narrative you want to push. They didnât do as well as other Scandis but they did better than much of Europe.
âŚand why Ireland isnât compared to Denmark, a country of roughly the same population and has half the death rate, and doesnât have the advantage of being an island.
I stand corrected. Ireland are steadily catching up. Still a way to go.
