The Ursuline Convent in Cork had a fine orchard which was convenient to my house, I never liked eating the apples, they were far too sour/tart but most of the kids around would have hopped the wall and gotten an occasional chase from the caretaker, I’d say he was only doing it to give us a bit of a thrill.

It’s gonna scream inequality to some but i found that the kids whose parents made time to sit with them for a while every day and help them out actually made good progress during both lockdown periods, others regressed because that want done for a variety of reasons.
There’s nothing special about teachers and there’s no magic billet that they know about, spend time reading with them and they’ll become better readers, explain maths concepts and practice them with your kids and they’ll improve at maths.
If you haven’t the time to do that then you’ll have to expect some regression unfortunately
