Coronavirus - Here come the variants

His master plan is to take credit for his decisive action (a year later, but sure) that saved Ireland from waves 4/5/6.

Gerry Killeen reckons we can really make a dent on this if we MHQ for 18 months

I’ve had a sore throat for the past few days so yesterday I thought I’d go for my first ever covid test. I went to the ballyfermot walk in centre. The lad asks me if I’ve symptoms and I say I’ve a sore throat. They tell me walk in centres are only for asymptomatics. People with symptoms have to book through their GP. Absolute fucking joke. So obviously I just jump in the car and drive to the Crumlin walk in centre instead and tell them I’m asymptomatic and get the test done. Results should come within 24 hours.

What a fucking sham. No logic behind it whatsoever other than the GPs have been milking this from the start. It’s an illogical rule than undermines public health but enriches the GPs and noone will stand up to them or even mention that it’s an issue.

@backinatracksuit "Don’t compare MHQ to Nazi Germany - good comment. I’d rather stay in a hotel in Dublin than Auschwitz. Although my trip to Auschwitz did make me very suspicious of the power of the state going around shouting “nazi germany” all the time makes you sound like a mentaller. A lot of lads here should go visit Auschwitz and see first hand what they’re always talking about.

“MHQ is a fluid situation and I’d say it could be nearly gone in 6 weeks” - very naive comment, setting yourself up for a big Internet fail.

GPs don’t charge for covid stuff mate. Whether you attend or not is irrelevant to what they make.
I agree its pretty stupid you’ve to go through the doctor, I guess the idea is to stop every fella with a tickle in his throat going for a test

Just got the text saying my test came back negative. Very impressive turnaround time, I only got the test at half six yesterday evening. If I hadn’t lied and said ibwas asymptomatic I’d have been all week sorting this out.

We need to all start going for walk in tests every day to get the percentage positivity down.

But people with no tickle in their throat are encouraged to go. The GPs charge the government for covid stuff I thought?

You should spend a bit of time researching this and get to the bottom of it. Come back in a few days with your findings.

I’m going to bust this case wide open

Do. Take your time with it and get it right.

They’ve got your DNA now. They’ll probably kill you and replace you with a tank clone who stares blankly, speaks monotonally and believes in masks and lockdowns

Will you let the State give your children the vaccination?

An internet fail :grinning:
I didn’t even say that, (you shouldn’t use speech marks if you don’t quote what is said) I said ‘who knows’ what the situation will be like in six weeks because another poster mentioned a friend who is due here in that timeframe.
And I said it as a riposte to the doomsayers that seem to believe this is with us for years to come. These internet fails will be all over the place.
I’m still trying to figure out how Fianna fail stand to gain politically from making Ireland a no go zone for tourists for years to come??

What happens if someone doesn’t or can’t pay the hotel bill?

They end up being splashed all over the newspapers and in Mountjoy

At this point in time it is seen as a rare victory for FF over FG. It was reported as such on the news on Friday and Fionnan Sheehan had an article in the Indo yesterday saying that Donnelly had effectively put Coveney back in his box over it. The converse of that is of course now that MHQ is now Donnelly and FFs baby and any crap that comes out from here on in will be laid at their door. The obvious issue on the horizon will be when the Erasmus students have to come home in a few weeks.
