Coronavirus - Here for life (In high population density areas)

The one thing we know about this virus is that we canā€™t predict a thing - good or bad.

Take each day as it comes.

Leo saying ye all partied too much

ā€˜The shebeens, the funerals, the wakes, most of those kind of super-spreader type events that weā€™re hearing about were not in compliance with regulationā€™

All scutter asideā€¦ It will be the end of March before we might even consider leaving level 5.

Rumoured that many businesses have already been told that it may be the end of March until they will be allowed to reopen.

Thatā€™s what Leo said last night.

Not a rumour, Leo said it live on TV

Shur he said that the other night

What show was he on?

Lads would do well to limit the noise on TV/mediaā€¦ it takes from your zen.

@Fagan_ODowd is possibly one of the elder statesmen who contracted it. Would be interested to hear from him how he felt, how it compared to any previous respiratory illness etc

I would not be drawing too many conclusions from a sample size of 1 (all due respect @Fagan_ODowd)

The wan person I know who has it hasnā€™t had so much as a sneeze . Thatā€™s enough evidence for me.

I know a fella in his 40s in an awful way with it, itā€™s going on over a month. Not ventilator bad but man flu bad.

Who said anything about drawing conclusions? Mickey asked did anyone actually feel sick from getting and I just mentioned itā€™d be interesting to hear how fagan felt, given his age and the virus effect on older people. Referring to sample size is not some sort of ā€˜gotchaā€™ here. Thereā€™s anecdotal posts about the virus all the time.

They moved to twice weekly press conferences at the back end of summer. This was then things were quieter and the HSE collectively decided their COVID responsibilities had ended, and things like adding capacity for a potential winter surge or implementation of a proper tracing regime were unnecessary.

So you have a Monday general update one and a Thursday one that focuses on the modelling with Professor Philly Nolan. She religiously tunes into the Thursday one. She might have it on RTE News Now (channel #508 I think) and sheā€™ll also have it going on her phone or iPad too in case she needs to move between rooms or feed a child or something. Sheā€™ll have the telly paused then. So she might be 15 minutes ahead on her phone but she wonā€™t let me change the channel in case she has to leave her phone and needs to fast forward the telly up to the point where she stopped watching on her phone.

Itā€™s madness.

Fair enough, but @Fagan_ODowd seems to have recovered fine which would draw the usual ā€˜itā€™s a codā€™.
