Age is by far the most significant variable, if you havenât grasped this fact yet you should stop posting. For people under 60 the CFR for Covid is 0.2%, for those over 60 it rises sharply, 2% for those in their 60s, 5% for those in their 70s, and 15% for those in their 80s. The second most important variable is how many people were in care homes as they proved to be the highest risk locations, super spreader venues. Sweden has 2 million people over 65, Ireland has 650K, do the math.
Ireland told people in early December to have a meaningful Christmas and encouraged super spreader events like packed shops, churches and pubs at the worst possible time heading into winter. Who goes to mass in Ireland? Old people. After having had restrictions for months, your government encouraged people to party, and to travel. How many people travelled to Ireland in December? It was literally a shoot yourself in the foot moment.
But you still wonât answer the question. If Ireland had adopted sensible restrictions like limiting travel and indoor events and putting the effort into infectious disease management in hospitals and nursing homes, how many fatalities would you have had? You have had 5K deaths, is it 7.5K, 10k, 100k?

Theres no point in spelling out the actual facts to zero covid headbangers. They donât see the highest risk factors being age, obesity and lack of vitamins/supplements to a healthy diet. Its life and people meeting having a normal life that is killing people. Letâs degrade every facet of life because there is a risk that it may kill you.
