Iām on the fence about it. Vaccination is only way out of it and unfortunately we have no choice but to push vaccinations and if people wonāt get one then they may have to sit out things.
However if you believe in thin ends of wedges then itās worrying as in theory it creates a precedent that could be used for other measures that we may find less palatable and once a principle is accepted itās hard to unaccept it.
Itās clear enough we are going to be in a cycle of booster jabs starting in Autumn too.
It would be good if you did take one as it would greatly reduce the possibility of you getting it and passing it on. Vaccines are not 100% effective and thereās lots of people not vaccinated yet that may not die but may get quite ill. The more people vaccinated the less the thing has scope to affect the population as a whole, and the sooner we have normality again.
Yeah, there are wide variations in vaccination rate. Most of the cities are 70%+ but the muldoons are bringing the overall rates down. Also said they expect the next wave to peak at 10-15000 cases a day. The record in March was 35000 cases a day.
So am I not entitled to look after my own safety and not inject myself with an experimental drug to prevent me from getting something of minimal threat to my demograph and which may not actually work?
On Nolan this morning it has been claimed that 60% of those hospitalised with Covid are unvaccinated. Hereās my tuppenceworth if thatās true. Other than those who have some medical condition which makes it advisable not to take the vaccine, the rest should be sent home and told to deal with it. If you canāt be arsed taking the vaccine and then get ill, donāt come whinging here.
Thatās some difference. A lot of rural places didnāt see the impact of it so much and so people arenāt motivated to get it. A friend in Madrid said mask compliance there is near total, even outside, people will shout at you if you have it under your nose etc. Makes sense given Madridās experience of it compared to other places.
You could make the argument that if somebody hasnāt left their room for six years, like the asexual one, they arenāt at risk of catching and passing on the virus, and thus shouldnāt be subject to any rules, as they already very effectively self-restrict.
Youāre talking to the type of creep that will toe the line to any injection the government directs him to take for fear of not being an obedient little citizen so I wouldnāt put too much or any stock in what he says to you
Vaccines are far less risky than getting covid for you. This is borne out by statistics.
You are indeed entitled to make a choice as to whether you will take one.
For most people itās a simple choice.
If your choice leads to you being more inconvenienced than people who choose to take the vaccine in order to protect themselves and others, I donāt really mind that.
Not only are the vaccines experimental, you are now saying they are effectively useless. If you are worried about their effectiveness then you should take the same precautions and exclude yourself from the activities you want vaccinated people to. Doing otherwise exposes you as a hypocrite.
