Coronavirus Thread - Pause before - The Final Battle (Part 1)

This is what happens when you vote the greens into government.

That unfortunately is the case. Look at what happens in hospitals over Christmas. When you see it up close its maddening. It’s a system built to serve the people who work in it and not the public.

Germany started building mass vaccination centres in November

A key tenet in the HSE/NPHET management of Covid 19 has always been to avoid any responsibility for response and never to let their systems be tested or scrutinised lest they fail. That drove the lockdown as the default and then only strategy they had.

I’d forgive that and allow it in hindsight if it saved lives. Now to use their own words they can “take the fight to the virus” and be proactive and vaccinate and they are already obfuscating and managing down expectations.

It’s maddening to hear them say every day counts when it’s a lockdown but not when they are the ones who need to deliver and then every day does not matter so much.

If there is a third wave coming, and hospitals are under threat along with a renewed threat to nursing homes, this is a question of days. The lads sitting back saying it’s irrelevant must be asleep as to what C19 does.

The HSE worked very well with the initial response, take out the middle managers and things get moving.

Treat this as an emergency, and not just a Christmas holiday hinderance, and this would get moving.

We need to reframe this now the vaccine exists.

Don’t report case numbers each day on six o’clock news.

Report numbers vaccinated in last 24 hours.

Dig out the millennium clock and put it back in the River Liffey with Vax Numbers.

The Freedom Clock.

Reporting the number of people vaccinated would give us a right shot in the arm each evening.

A real booster

They’ll vaccinate about 2 people on Tuesday.

It’s all they had to do today tbh. Optics are important, it’s the day of new restrictions with many people waking up after Christmas with no job again. I thought they’d have been smart enough to get it going.

Every day counts. Every contact counts. We need to act quickly and get ahead of the virus

The NHS have recruited and trained 10000 to deliver the Oxford vaccine once approved. Target to vaccinate one million per week.

Once they’re done there they can pop over here, we’d be done only 4 weeks after them.

My work is done here.

They’ll vaccinate a few on the late late.

The HSE are going to have to be shamed into working outside of Mon-Fri 9-5. We’ll get an "expansion " of services around the end of January when someone sends a tweet to Leo highlighting how we are bottom of the vaccination charts

Fuck the civil service

100% this will happen.

Have they even rolled out the app to track who has got vaccinated? Or will it be the usual shit show of developing an app after half the country has been stobbed and hope that Monica in Occ Health admin will back fill the data after?
