It would depend on if they are following proper safety measures, using ppe correctly etc. You do also realise plenty of staff in hospitals have no direct contact with patients donāt you. If the correct measures are being taken it should be possible to control the spread of a virus in any environment.
2 weeks is arbitrary, why not use every 3 days or every weekā¦ Or sure use a month and itāll be more than double

2 weeks is relative to the rate of growth
If it was doubling every 2 days it would be growing faster than every 2 weeks.
It is still exponential growth.
Start at 2 thousand.
2 weeks time. 4 thousand
4 weeks time. 8 thousand
6 weeks time. 16 thousand.
But at those numbers the growth rate would more than likely speed up too.
Because if community transmission were out of control as YOU claimed, cases would be doubling every 2-3 days, not 14 days. A doubling in 14 days reflected increased transmission among a certain subset of the population, a bunch of young lads celebrating winning a junior B title for example. Which isnāt community transmission as the origin is known and can be easily identified and stopped if your idiot government had their eye on the ball.
Use data rather than anecdote to find out how and why virus spreads. For example there is data that a barber being open increases R number by 0.05. Does our current situation justify closing all barbers. Put resources into capacity in hospitals and testing and tracing. Hold HSE and NPHET to account for failures over summer to build capacity in hospitals and testing.
Enforce rules. People waiting for tests or who test positive need to be educated and engaged about staying at home. Lots of cases from people who headed out while waiting for tests.
Lock down over 70s rather than close economy.

Why would I explain something I have not claimed? You clearly donāt understand the basics on how a highly infectious disease like Covid spreads when you have community transmission. I honestly donāt have the time to educate you on it.

We get it mate, you understand the mathematical definition of the exponential growth function. The discussion is in relation to covid - a doubling every month would still be exponential, correct?
Context of when exponential levels to linear growth and the actual nominal number of cases at any point matters in relation to the restriction measures taken.

Covid has something called R0 and Rt like any infectious disease, Rt varies based on mitigation efforts. Based on the known R0 for Covid, if community transmission were out of control, cases would be growing every 2-3 days. If you donāt believe me do you own research and refute the above.
