I’m not being sarcastic. I find it amazing that a zero covid advocate would go near a pub tbh.

Of course, they should behave responsibly as should the vaccinated.

And behind it all they are probably just petrified of needles.

No distinction between the two?

Why do the bedwetters not show sincerity in their stance and lock themselves away from society if they are so scared of the virus.

You find a lot of things amazing.

It’s only a very small prick. To be honest you’d think the anti-vaccine lads would appreciate that given that’s what so many of them are.

No, not based on the science. You get a boost to immunity against developing serious disease for 4 - 6 months after vaccination, then it wears off. It wears off faster for those that are most vulnerable and are immunocompromised to begin with.

The reduction in infection and transmission rates isn’t significant, especially a few months after vaccination. At this point you simply have to assume you are as likely to get infected or spread infection in a risky environment, vaccinated or not.

ISAG have been saying for months that vaccines alone were not enough.

The same lads who were vilifying ISAG are now preaching what they have been saying.

'Tis a funny old world.

@farmerinthecity’s vaccine won’t work unless everyone else is vaccinated. It’s science.

So what would you have advised during this period?

Continued restrictions on the population?

Of course there is a considerable portion of unvaccinated people in hospital now, relative to their size in the population. This bears out where the strength of the vaccine lies. That should be remembered.

Why are HSE dragging their feet on rolling out boosters?

Why did they close down mass vaccination centres?

They are two questions that should be repeatedly asked

4553 positive swabs is the latest.

Just the 17.4% positivity rate.

The testing system is being asked to go up to 11. It does not go up to 11. It doesn’t go near 11.

The public health advice was that we had suppressed it. I recall Nolan specifically saying that.

Hence vaccination centres were wound up, it was talked about winding up NPHET. We were meant to be fully reopening on October 22nd.

That is the bit that grinds on me. It’s not as if they hadn’t been forewarned about this time of the year.

I think I should get two boosters, because I’m great.

I can accept that but with masks, travel, antigen tests, models they double down before they admit they may have got it wrong.

Surely they knew from their models that cases were increasing and vaccine effectiveness was waning.

We now face into the worst time of year for respiratory illness as vaccines wear off.

They know this now and still the talk is about the public and not what the health system needs to do - open up vaccination centres and start rolling out boosters
