Daily Debate: Eoin Kelly (Tipperary) v Pat Horgan (cork)

Lock the thread and Iā€™m sorry for even starting the debate.

He didnā€™t hit it sweetly at all. It was a mishit, and the save was routine enough.
I was right behind the goal in the front row of the middle tier. Best seats I ever had at a game.

Ah here, callanan is in that first group.

sure Kelly nearly had to play bog ball one championship when he was in his prime. Babs wouldnā€™t pick him

It was an awful botched effort at a goal for a player that some hail as an all time great. It cost Tipperary that 2009 final.

Quality is shite buts still looks like he caught it allright -

Iā€™d argue Benny dunne cost them. They had the wind in their sails until then.

I donā€™t think anyone was proclaiming Callanan as an all time great in 2009 as a 20 year old

Apologies, Iā€™m getting it mixed up with the effort which went low and to the right of Ryan.
Still think callanan mishit that one though.

They were two awful misses from Seamie and Eoin Kelly. Ultimately the aura of that Kilkenny team got to them. Kilkenny were on the ropes and they couldnā€™t deliver the knock out blow.

What was that stat you had with Henry on the field and tipp never beating them

It was a great save and not a terrible shot. He should have hit it low but he would have got blocked down if he hit it the other side of the goal. The phantom penalty killed the game but Kilkenny probably would have eked out a win after the sending off even though Tipp did keep hurling well until the penalty

He caught it fine, was just a shot at a height a keeper had a chance. Ryan made a beautiful instinctive save.
In saying that, Callanan canā€™t miss from there.

Iā€™d forgive Eoin his miss as he slipped but he was raging nonetheless.

Incredible going thatā€™s hes into a third decade now hurling at that level

Keep up, goose.

Ah yeah the lull in the middle probably did him the world of good in hindsight, he was an incredibly exciting player in 2008/09

Experience told in the end, simple as that.

Tipp learned harsh lessons but thankfully learned from them.

Tipp won in 2010 because king Henry went off itā€™s as simple as that.

Ah yeah sure at a time when everybody else was running scared Tipp stepped up and played their part in a classic before beating them the following year

Ryan was right handed left sided striker as well , exact opposite to Brendan Cummins. Both were naturally adapted to making saves where they had to adapt the hurl to cross their bodies.
