Callanan has become a goal machine in recent years. Undoubtably the best goal scorer in the game for a few years now. Joe a better all round hurler though. And was scoring goals at a similar rate to Callanan back when Galway used to play him at 14.

Callanan played the majority of those games in the limp wristed munster championship. A lot harder to get scores in the cauldrons of nowlan park, parnell park and the shtadium. If all you have is stats and no eye for it, im not surprised
