I literally couldn’t sleep. And my poo schedule is all over the place. I was groggy this morning, like in a fog. Maybe I’d have adjusted after a bit but fuck that.
My new fad diet is calorie counting with keeping the protein high.

One third of every meal protein, veg/fruit, carbs as @Thomas_Brady said won’t see you far wrong. Minimise sugars and processed foods.
I generally keep the protein high and the rest lowish.
It would help if on one of my 5-6 gym visits a week, I went near a cardio machine instead of just lifting
Would you go for an oul walk and listen to a podcast or something… Your back will thank you for it in the decades to come
I walk every day
I’ve added a 5km walk each evening into my daily routine. If I go out alone I’ll listen to an audiobook.
It’s changed my life in ways I never thought possible. I’m like a new man mentally after it.
Are you still atin the locally sourced Huel?
There’s a powerful connection between walking and thinking things through
Huel Black. Any lad ating regular Huel now needs their head examined.
I ate it in the Fall and Winter. I’ve gotten into soups recently. I might make that a thing for A/W 2020 on TFK.
Running has been shown to help short term memory - like for study and such things …
Sorry for randomly offloading that on you.
Soups are easy and full of what’s good for you …
I’m a huge fan of born to run mate and a healthy level of running is great for mind and body, but grimacing through a pain barrier makes little sense I think
It’s literally magic for the mind. I’ve started to add a weekend hike now with the family on a Sunday morning when I can. We did 10km weekend before last. I’d like to start hiking a bit longer myself - take off for an entire Saturday afternoon or similar.
If you can get anywhere away from civilisation even better, but almost impossible in ireland. I went for a few 6-7 hour back country walks in Canada, no sign of human life anywhere bar the trail. Soul food.
@backinatracksuit is always banging on about that book —
We were born to move tho — but we’re heading the other way.
I agree re grimacing through pain - it’s stupid. I just stop dead now when I’m gassing — i’ve done a few short runs at ‘pace’ and i’ve gotten to 4.5km and instead of suffering for another few minutes just to make 5k, I stop instead … it’s really just about getting into a comfortable pace you can maintain , like walking, and getting in the meditation zone.
I’ve a 7km loop I do in the park most evenings. Lovely to listen to angry metal or a podcast, depending on my humour.
Unfortunately the missus has a tendency to tag along and ruin it lately
You are only codding yourself going for a walk. You are at nothing if your weekly schedule is not full of interval, shuttle and tempo runs.
you might as well stay at home
Does it make you talk like an American?
