You should do it for mental clarity instead

Any lad not entering a state of autophagy at least once a week may as well be smoking forty a day

I’m grand thanks

There’s literally nothing that people won’t fall for nowadays, starving yourself is a good one though

Fasting is a part of the human condition and evolution. It has all kinds of health benefits. 100% agree with you that people will fall for anything - Thinking you need to eat every 3/4 hours is proof of that… That you need a breakfast first thing in the morning is the greatest bit of marketing success in human history.

100%.

From the Russia supporting Jordan Peterson fan with a picture of Elon musk as his avatar :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I would feel… if you have the discipline for weekly 24 hour fasts, of which the health benefits are probably minimal, seems insane, then you have the discipline to enjoy a reasonably healthy diet which has incredible health benefits,
I don’t have a great diet but I’m very healthy and quite content, if I wasn’t I’d like to think that I would tackle it head on rather than indulging in the latest fad

Ok. You’ve no idea what your talking about here so we’ll leave it.

Probably for the best :+1:

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, fasting would be it
A long-term benefits of fasting have been proved by scientists
Whereas the rest of the advice on tfk has no basis more reliable
Than lads, who are so lost in life they’ll put down 36 hours arguing over a first round hurling match yellah card, own meandering experience

Sure the long term benefits of everything have been proven by scientists, and the long term risks a week later

It’ll be replaced by the next fad that will also have a take of scientific data to support it, be healthy

You’re some cowboy!

What are you talking about?

I’d a lovely feed there, first bite since last night. Rib eye, brocoli steamed and then stir fried with garlic, chilli, and crushed walnuts …plus a little stilton melted on top. I’ll wait 23 hours and have the same again. Serious clarity and remarkable serenity

All you need is a tree to lie under.

Maybe a fishing rod

If you’d a day of labouring laid out would you be able to manage it fasted?

Silly fads, you’d be as well off reading Bressie’s book or following Gwyneth Paltrow and drinking hyena fanny juice

I’d say this thread is one thing after another, all ‘scientifically proven’

I personally fast once a week for 25 hours a day as it is in that extra hour in the day that winners are made.
