Does whiskey have calories?… I’m only fasting since 1am if so

We import most of the food we eat

Very manageable. Now Friday was a handy work day and sure today is Saturday. I might do one post Christmas during two work days. But nothing but good to report on. I’ll go to the gym today again. I expect to not have a fantastic session but feel like I have plenty of energy for it.

How could you have plenty of energy? That goes against all known science surely

Fire up a few known science links there that have led you to this claim

Had a good gym session yesterday, went to bed content and happy and slept like a log. Caffeine is hitting very well too so feeling energetic, loose and fresh. I’d imagine I’ll be wrecked this evening, but as of now I feel great.

Are we seriously arguing that a 40 hour fast including a tough gym session will not deplete energy levels??

I’m in good shape, generally eat quite well
But if I was in your boat I’d be in bits, the caffeine would give me a savage headache without the food to balance it

Most advice on fasting that ive ever read would be that you dont do too strenuous exercise if youre fasting. Sure your body needs protein to repair and recover after a big gym session.

I tend to abuse caffeine a lot so it’s a bit of a welcome feeling it properly kick in. Legs are sore today after leg day but nothing majorly worse than a normal post leg day. Be interesting to see how strong or weak I feel in the gym today. All going well I might chance some cardio after just to see how much effect fasting has on that. I’d imagine it would be very tough.

My grandfather is well into his 90s and the man is an animal. Broke his back 60 years ago working putting up poles for the ESB. Told he’d never walk again yadda yadda. Was back in work a few months later as he put it he’d 6 mouths to feed. Thr pickiest eater that ever lived. Toast and tea for breakfast with jam. A sandwich for lunch. Meat and two veg for dinner and a sweet for supper. He was doing pull ups up unitl he bust his hip when a greyhound turned him upside down out the fields. He still does the excercise bike and walks the dogs 6 miles a day back the fields. Never smoked and is a pioneer. Its not overly complex. Have a passion and the rest seems to fall in place. The first year he hasnt a dog he’ll go

Yep that’s the argument. What was the known science you have to suggest the opposite?

If I had to make a small, pure shite talk chancer talk, guess as to why I feel energetic, it might be down to the fact I put away a serious amount of food every day. I have a ridiculous high metabolism, I’ve always had it and have had the appetite to go with it. However I’ve always had some digestion issues, which I’ve mostly put down to having to digest a lot more food than the average person. I eat fairly clean year round, but my body has to be working hard digesting food. I can see how giving the body a break during fasting might allow me to not be as lethargic and slumped.

Right, I’ll get out my science journals there and see if there’s any truth in the theory that food provides energy :joy:

No no you said there was science that said fasting would lead to a distinct lack of energy.

Get them out there so, this should be good.

:joy::joy::joy::joy:
A 40 hour fast with a tough gym session in the middle will lead to reduced energy levels,
A caveman would know that :man_shrugging:

Still having trouble getting the science to back up your argument up I see. Weird you said you had it earlier.

I don’t need a book or the internet to tell me what I’ve always known, that’s the problem with you cranks, you have nothing in your head, just fed a steady diet of bullshit on the internet, get some fresh air

Seems like simple maths to me.

Haha you absolute fucking blow hard. No luck with the science journals you were digging out I take it. What a total moron. Again. Maybe there’s a science podcast you can pay to tell you how to think, like you did for the NFL
