I’d often make fresh orange juice and I agree with you on that. I also wouldn’t dream of buying an innocent smoothie.

I think the thing with the green smoothies is that you’re getting a heap of veg and the flaxseeds aids your digestion system etc. They sound good to me anyway.
You can have great crack with this yoke, once you get it up and going… Greek yogurt, wheat grass, glutamine…

Hell… you could even throw a spoon of codeine and watch the world float by.

Oh veg smoothies are bang on. And it is certain fruits mixed.

You are in right track, just I often see people with good intentions and bad information. This seems not to be the case here. CARRy on.

I presume only some smoothies are bad for you ie those which contain a lot of fruit which has a lot of natural sugar.

The ones @Thrawneen is advocating seem to contain a high content of veg.

Celery, carrot and apple :pint:

Give me a recipe for a vegtable smoothie that’s not disgusting
Don’t do it. There is mounting evidence that smoothies are bad for you. The mix of different sugars from different fruits is creating bad sugars.

The smoothies in bottles are far far worse. Coca Cola andPepsi have bought up a lot if the companies who produce these. They now think the smoothies Coca Cola own have 5 tea spoons if sugars more in them than a can of coke.

If juicing use vegetables and only one fruit.

I gave up sugary drinks a long way back, but recently had a hand juiced orange juice. It was so bitter I was surprised, and reminded me of how much sugar they put in bottled “juices”.
Really? I have one practically every morning. Usually get about 3 portions of fruit in one every morning: juice, carrot or banana, frozen berries, oats, maybe some nuts and seeds or maybe some variations on the fruit. Can’t be bad surely?

that’s your Mrs’s fanny you’re thinking about pal

All these look pretty good.

Besides, when Rocky was swigging down a dozen raw eggs before going for his dawn run, was he doing it for the flavour? He was in his hole, you big Jessie. He was doing it because he was fighting the Master of Disaster, Apollo Creed in a few weeks.

My emaciated pals were drinking pints of Guinness and attacking the platter that was on the pub table last Friday evening like there was no tomorrow. So I would say “yes”.

Keep up that fucking lip, sonny and I’ll box your fucking head in.

You’d bate nothin, you handicap.

I’ll bate the bag off ya, you steamer

I’ll box you so hard you’ll be praying the next one is a kick.

I’d hit you so many digs you’d think you were surrounded, kid.

You’re fucking dead, sham. I’ll be keeping an eye out for a bearded health food shop worker when I’m down there next weekend and the first thing you’ll know about it is when I’m dancing on your fucking head.

I used to do the raw egg thing when I was younger and an athlete. No idea why as egg is not very digestible raw but there was no internet then so we had “good intentions but bad information”. If there was an internet I am confident I would have medalled at at least one Olympic Games.

Too easy…

Like playing Muhammad Ali at Buckaroo
