Dublin Pubs - Hall of Fame

You’re right. Not even a black and white.

But the talent in cowboy hats is unreal.
Something to look at anyway.

Go to Walshs in stoneybatter. No music but as nice a pub as you will fine. Some nice pubs on manor street

Took the advice (mostly)
Had the first pint (Moretti)in O’Reillys on Parnell St as my missus needed to do something urgently on the phone(Ryanair had refunded a deposit on flights because she hadn’t paid the balance, all sorted now and she saved us 300e in the process)
O’Reillys was gas, they had a DJ at early afternoon, drank outside,
Had a pint of Carlsberg in Croker.
Pint of Guinness in Briody’s which was a lovely pub, then onto the Abbey after a feed in the Japanese place on O’Connel street (grand)
Pint of Guinness and a green spot in the Oval (terrible musician playing), lovely pub but I’d been in there a couple of times before.
Heineken in the Cobblestone where there was good trad(I don’t like trad)
Then a pint in Walsh’s of Stoneybatter, great pub but quite busy
Chips across the road in Olivio (I think) and home to bed

Had the brekkie in Brother Hubbard which I always like :+1:

The Gravediggers would be a grand spot on a quiet day. But does it ever have a quiet day?

I was told that was a rugby crowd. 90% male and virtually all drinking Guinness. There was two barmen doing nothing except pulling pints. I haven’t seen that in a long while.

The pints were being pulled two at a time without tilting the glasses. Despite this and the very hot day it tasted alright.

The seats and tables inside are a bit rough looking to match the ambiance. But also a little uncomfortable. 8/10

The pints in the Galway Hooker were just as good but the service poor, what with the concert crowd.

A lot of very drunk young lads around even at that early stage. The girls were alright it has to be said.

Noel Tynan was chatting away to myself and my missus in the Celt pre Covid.

He put us up a drink as well.

It’s not often you see that in Dublin City Centre pubs.

The Hut is a fine pub and worthy of cathedral status. I drank in there for a lot of the 90s and noughties. Tony Keady and Brendan Lynskey were regulars. It used to be strong na fianna pub then. An eclectic mix of screws from the Joy, nurses from The Mater and the Gorman, Bohs supporterrs, aul country lads stranded in Fizzboro and Irvine Welch.

There is brilliant big snug at the back too. Noble joint.

I’d be of the opinion there are a lot more “Cathedrals” on the northside. However the easily led here are beholden to that imbecile Curtis south of the Liffey.

Surely they are not serious?

Noel was listed as one of dj carey’s scam victims yesterday.

Where did you see the list?

There’s a lot more than those 10. Some too decent or embarrassed to be put their own names forward.

Too decent is a bit harsh as sound like the ones who were named did something wrong
