Dublin V Cork All Ireland Hurling SmeiFinal
And from a Limerick perspective, this is the best possible result.

Limerick would have been unsure about facing Dublin. however, Cork will be a handy day out for this super Limerick team.

Limerick will likely be taking over as the dominant team in the country and hopefully winning 7 or 8 All Ireland’s in the next decade.
 Please stop, this annoys me 10 times more than the Clare lads wumming.

Cracking game but the sending off killed Dublin. They were getting on top when it happened.

Cork will not lose an AI final to whoever wins next weekend.

Ive a feeling Luke O Farrell could click today
if we somehow mange to nullify Keaney, may need Shane O Neill to keep him quiet and the lads inside use their speed i can see us running a drag with their FB line
Cork by 7+, Luke O Farrell with 1-4
absolute champagne hurling throughout with very little frees
something along the lines of Cork 1-25 Dublin 0-17
Mickeee knows the score
As one of Cody’s disciples I’m not surprised you’re persisting with this line of no sendings off ever.

The first yellow would seem to have been for a fair enough shoulder tackle if maybe a couple of inches off. But that’s with the help of a replay. When I saw it first and from how the Corkie fell I thought it was into the chest by O’Dwyer. Hence the referee’s decision I’d say.

The second one was pretty fucking thick from a guy on a yellow card for a shoulder into the chest.

I’d say O’Dwyer is a marked man in the referring fraternity for being a dirty cunt so he’s unlikely to get any sympathy/benefit of the doubt.

Rushe should’ve been sent off and Owens bottled it.

The referee in the minor game was a total fucking arsehole. Two lads sent off for accidents. Not even dangerous accidents.
a simple I agree with you mate would have sufficed there.

I didnt want to mention the minor game again for fear of mentioning a Kilkenny player being wrongfully sent off.

I thought Owens was having an alright game until the sending off. But I felt he didnt need to give the yellow, no one was really looking for it and it would have moved on had he not given it. And then for the Rushe one, he completely bottled it, and I thought after that he gave Dublin a couple of handy frees.

But him not sending off Rushe doesnt even things up. its a shame really, would have liked to see the 2 of them keep going score for score to the end. Also a pity a mistake from McGuire sealed the game too. Great opportunism from Horgan, but should never have had the chance.

Some excellent scores from both sides though, and Horgan and Lehane in particular. Great skill on show.
Fair fucking play to both teams. What a fucking game.

I’m in tears.
Me too kid. That is sensational. Didn’t even play all that well

JBM.

Oh to be oh to be a …

Limerick would get 10 goals and Pa Horgan would get none

Thought the Dubs had a lot more players up to scratch today but Cork were clinical. Dubs are coming.

We have nothing off the bench. Nash the differnce today. Three points and no mpoor puck out in second half.

Savage stuff. JBM. What a man. What a fucking man

A legend at work today!!!

I thought it was an enjoyable game but didn’t think it was an alltime classic as others have. It was played in good spirit and it was end to end stuff but there was plenty of space given by both sides and both sets of forwards got plenty of time on the ball. The sending off certainly seemed to knock Dublin, they had started the second half well and had started to get on top, the red card along with Nash pointing the resulting free gave them serious momentum. Rushe should have been sent off. it was a clear strike and the ref bottled it.

The first touch of the Cork forwards was excellent today.

Daly had made the decisive tactical move today bringing back 7 defenders and it looked like Dublin were going to push on, the they were reduced to 14 and Ryan’s free taking fell to pieces. JBM has done a fine job but the sendings off in the last 2 games have really helped especially as corks possession game really suits a situation where the do have an extra man but I thought JBM used him badly until near the end when he finally moved him out the field. He has done a fine job with this side but I didn’t think he was good today

Agreed. It’s been a great, entertaining championship but people who should know better are falling over themselves to proclaim every game as an epic or a classic. RTE calls today’s game an epic. Cyril and Ger looked orgasmic earlier. It was most unbecoming of them.

Don’t necessarily agree with your point on Dublin, unless they get some of the dual players to commit. As discussed earlier this evening on the thread, it’s a fairly old and settled team and they’ve all been knocking around the panel for years with the exception of Sutcliffe and the returning Keaney. It’ll be interesting to see if Daly stays on actually.

The Cork bench doesn’t look all that strong on paper alright but I thought Stephen White did relatively well on Sutcliffe when he came on and Moylan knocked over a late score, like he did against Kilkenny, so those two did okay today.

yeah I’m not convinced that Dublin will get a better chance. They looked like they peaked 2 years ago when they won the league but didnt follow on from that and had a shit year last year, and from the first game against Wexford, looked like that would continue. But they really improved from then, and took some big scalps. I just cant see them breaking through with this current side. It took them a long time to get where they are now, and I dont think they have the same talent or numbers coming through quick enough to make an impression before the guts of this team is past its peak.

Anybody hear what Considine said on RTE about making two yellows like a black caard, you can replace man and not be down to fourteen? Doesn’t seem a bad idea after today and last week

Cyril says every game is a classic

It’s a stupid idea. Why do certain people think that nobody should be sent off in hurling? Don’t give out soft yellows in the first few minutes of an All-Ireland semi-final would be a better idea.

Good shout. The silly sendings off over the last few weeks though are hard enough to take. Dalo was asked too if he shouldn’t have taken Dywer and he was like well he’s one of our top players am I supposed to take him off after a minute?

I’ve only goeten to re-watch the first half so far but the pace of that was faster than anything Tipp and Kilkenny produced in their heyday, if not as physical.

I think two Yellow should equal a black. Red should be reserved for the most heinous of fouls, out and out dirty pulls etc. Straight Black for cynical stuff, except inside the last 10 minutes when they become straight reds.

It was not, 2009-10 AI finals were faster and better contested. Lads carrying the ball today for 5-6 steps and looking up for a pass, if you did that v kk you’d have a piece of Eddie Brennan’s hurl sticking out through the back of your skull
