Brogan (like the whole team in a way) seems to be told to do what he is good at play his own game. I’ve no doubt they would like him do a few things better, but I think he’s on the cusp if tearing someone apart. He would have done it to Cork only Shields had a blinder.

Brolly mostly right here. Goich at centre forward is arguably the most over rated performer in my living memory. I was always a fan of the idea of it, but it hasn’t worked. The men he is marking are having big influences themselves and he’s just a weak tackler. I think he’ll give away a few lazy frees Sunday, a couple of yellows wouldn’t be a surprise.
However I don’t agree that hasn’t been a leader. I remember plenty times when he came demanding the ball and took teams on and turned games. Lets face it (I hate the sight of him to be honest) he is/was an unbelievable corner forward, he’s a beautiful foot passer an he is very intelligent positionally, but he has no physical presence and can’t play at 11 in the present day.[/quote]
Were you at the Munster Final Caoimhaoin? Gooch was amazing at centre forward pinging it around like a mad yoke. He’s a different type of centre forward to what we’ve seen in recent years, less of a worker, although he does drop deep, too deep, at times. He’s not going to run the legs off Brennan (assuming it’s gonna be Brennan), but he’ll give him shitloads to think about. Brennan won’t have the guile or football to cope with the boy
gooch is a retard mate
James Loughry, his direct marker also had an excellent game and to be honest Gooch was missing for large parts of 2nd half.
The goal was beautifully taken but taking everything into account (Corks amazingly shit stand off tactics and general play especially) and the general poor intensity o that game it arguably the most over rated performance in years.
Remind me who got man of the match in the Munster final @caoimhin
Gooch vs Ger Brennan is giving Jim Gavin nightmares I would have thought
Who cares, he gets MOTM for togging out. He had a good first half.
Its giving me nightmares.

It’s a massive problem for Dublin alright. Brennan is a loose cannon at times.
Can see him getting an early yellow, if not a red.
Thinking of backing HT Kerry FT Dublin in this one.
Think Kerry’s superior natural ability will show in the first half but their older legs will tire in second half with Dublin going on to win by 2 or 3 points

That’s if he is starting or even marking the Gooch. I can see them leaving him out and maybe putting O’Sullivan on Gooch and moving Bastick into midfield.
I wonder will Cullen start and be told to drop back and sit in front of him and follow him when gooch drifts?..or even start Bastick and have Cian O Sullivan track Gooch when he drifts…If Brennan follows Gooch when he drops, then there will be a gaping hole…can see Kerry going for goals early…I’d be worried about james O Donoghue…he is very direct and always looks for goals…if he gets left one on one he will go at the corner back every time
any word on alan Brogan?

Alan Brogan I thought is gone for the season.
he was on course for quarters but tweaked his hamstring I think and would be ok for semi’s…haven’t heard anything since…
No, I don’t get people who can only see the positives in some if the stars. Nor do I get the media drooling over certain players every time no matter what really happens in a game. Gooch, Bernard Brogan and Shefflin have gotten some of the strangest MOTM’s I have seen. People get attuned to what the good players do, which is natural, but often can’t see or choose to ignore weaknesses. Especially with someone like Gooch who’s skills are very easy on the eye.
The GAA isn’t very analytical about its analysis.
conveniently left out arguably the greatest benefactor of this - sean og O 'hailpin…

Kerry don’t have superior ability now. This is not 5-6 years ago. So many of the Kerry players are gone and some of the new lads are either miles off their best yet or simply not up to it.
Now that you mention it, ya, him too. There are others as well. I remember Goulding getting one very dodgy one.
