I was talking about clerys but Debenham is another example. Twitter held to andifferent standard because its not actually liquidating
Research it yourself laddie. Iām not going to spend the day educating somebody who could come out with trip like this.
āIāve no idea regarding the reasonable selection. Iād imagine the definition of āreasonableā would be key thereā
Oooh youāre hard.
Go on spending the rest of the day posting about what you imagine employment law is.
Go away outta that. Ive a gang of bully boys making fun of me on the internet all morning. Itās very hurtful.
How will people show their solidarity for twitter employees while posting on twitter ? A twitter flag ? 2 bucks a month
Three days is a long time on the internetā¦ I hope @Bod95 and @Tim_Riggins are happy
Weāre essentially hanging by the balls in the hands of a few multinationals. The figures are great to see of course but theyāve been decades in the making and Brexit has helpedā¦ But what is Pascal and co doing to grow local small/medium business economies? Itās like weāve learned nothing from the last crash where we built our foundations on a housing market and all the jobs that go with itā¦ What happens if a few multinationals pull out or run their profits through a different country? I hope itā¦
Why does the fact that people donāt like the tiny tiny minority of middle class left wing ultra woke people mean they now have to support or at the very least not criticise a fella like musk acting like an absolute cunt and sacking thousands of people on a whim?
Does that not seem a bit crazy that disliking those preachy people (the type of which I donāt ever think Iāve met in real life) influences your politics and worldview that much that youād support almost anything to be on the opposite side to āthemā?

Thatās the way itās gone now with the pretend edgy types on here.
Whoās supporting him?
All redundancies are shit, including the stripe ones. Im sure the 1k or so stripe employees feel the selection was done on a whim
Iāve been through it myself. Worked for a major multinational for the bones of 15 years. Loved the place. Dell bought it and let go of my whole department 2 weeks before Christmas. No notice. Put on āgardening leaveā etc.
See also not criticising him
If it turns out he has broken the law Iāll criticise him. The full facts arenāt known.
Are you done now?
The hand wringing, earnest concern for twitter employees from the usual suspects is gas. I could guarantee you @backinatracksuit @Arthur @Fagan_ODowd @Gman would be cracking jokes and giving it the āgood enough for emā if a perceived āright wingā company or publication trimmed a % of their staff. If gript.ie, the telegraph, whomever they identify as the ābad guysā, lost their jobs itād be a different tone. Theyāll deny it as itās inconvenient at this point in time but you know itās the case. Elon Musk being a billionaire is completely irrelevant- who do you think owns most plcs - extremely wealthy funds and individuals, itās a complete red herring.
This is the future and why MNCs came here in first place ā¦ weak Union membership ā¦the one place that stuck it to them over the years is Waterford and the reason it canāt attract much new bidness and employment ā¦
this thread is laughing at people losing their jobs
Havenāt seen that tbh. Not sure anyoneās response to redundancy has been to laugh at workers made unemployed?
Thatās about number 78 on the list of why mncs came here. Surely you donāt think that?
Anyway, tech staff, finance staff, any tech adjacent resources basically for the past 5 years, have been overhired and received benefits and salaries not communserate with their skills, output and scarcity. Easy money is not sloshing around the system anymore and there will be cuttbacks everywhere- thatās where we are in the economic cycle. Tech is the frontline causality. Look at Amazon and Metaās latest earnings report, forecast and share price. But but but Elonās the bad guy sing the simpletons song
Great to see you got something out of the course Mike
Maybe elon could boost the profits by letting Jordan Peterson and trump back on twitterā¦then thereād be no more redundancies.
What do we think lads?

Apparently It was actually one of the first guarantees they looked for back in the day ā¦
