Elon Musk

I was talking about clerys but Debenham is another example. Twitter held to andifferent standard because its not actually liquidating

Research it yourself laddie. Iā€™m not going to spend the day educating somebody who could come out with trip like this.

ā€œIā€™ve no idea regarding the reasonable selection. Iā€™d imagine the definition of ā€œreasonableā€ would be key thereā€

Go on spending the rest of the day posting about what you imagine employment law is.

How will people show their solidarity for twitter employees while posting on twitter ? A twitter flag ? 2 bucks a month

Three days is a long time on the internetā€¦ I hope @Bod95 and @Tim_Riggins are happy

Why does the fact that people donā€™t like the tiny tiny minority of middle class left wing ultra woke people mean they now have to support or at the very least not criticise a fella like musk acting like an absolute cunt and sacking thousands of people on a whim?
Does that not seem a bit crazy that disliking those preachy people (the type of which I donā€™t ever think Iā€™ve met in real life) influences your politics and worldview that much that youā€™d support almost anything to be on the opposite side to ā€˜themā€™?

Thatā€™s the way itā€™s gone now with the pretend edgy types on here.

Whoā€™s supporting him?

All redundancies are shit, including the stripe ones. Im sure the 1k or so stripe employees feel the selection was done on a whim

Iā€™ve been through it myself. Worked for a major multinational for the bones of 15 years. Loved the place. Dell bought it and let go of my whole department 2 weeks before Christmas. No notice. Put on ā€œgardening leaveā€ etc.

If it turns out he has broken the law Iā€™ll criticise him. The full facts arenā€™t known.

Are you done now?

The hand wringing, earnest concern for twitter employees from the usual suspects is gas. I could guarantee you @backinatracksuit @Arthur @Fagan_ODowd @Gman would be cracking jokes and giving it the ā€˜good enough for emā€™ if a perceived ā€˜right wingā€™ company or publication trimmed a % of their staff. If gript.ie, the telegraph, whomever they identify as the ā€˜bad guysā€™, lost their jobs itā€™d be a different tone. Theyā€™ll deny it as itā€™s inconvenient at this point in time but you know itā€™s the case. Elon Musk being a billionaire is completely irrelevant- who do you think owns most plcs - extremely wealthy funds and individuals, itā€™s a complete red herring.

This is the future and why MNCs came here in first place ā€¦ weak Union membership ā€¦the one place that stuck it to them over the years is Waterford and the reason it canā€™t attract much new bidness and employment ā€¦

Havenā€™t seen that tbh. Not sure anyoneā€™s response to redundancy has been to laugh at workers made unemployed?

Thatā€™s about number 78 on the list of why mncs came here. Surely you donā€™t think that?

Anyway, tech staff, finance staff, any tech adjacent resources basically for the past 5 years, have been overhired and received benefits and salaries not communserate with their skills, output and scarcity. Easy money is not sloshing around the system anymore and there will be cuttbacks everywhere- thatā€™s where we are in the economic cycle. Tech is the frontline causality. Look at Amazon and Metaā€™s latest earnings report, forecast and share price. But but but Elonā€™s the bad guy sing the simpletons song

Great to see you got something out of the course Mike

Maybe elon could boost the profits by letting Jordan Peterson and trump back on twitterā€¦then thereā€™d be no more redundancies.
What do we think lads?

Apparently It was actually one of the first guarantees they looked for back in the day ā€¦:man_shrugging:
