Sad thing is a lot of fcukwits will think heās cool and edgey for doing it ā¦ a real go getter ā¦ itās a dick of a move ā¦ fair enough if he believes he doesnāt need them but thereās a correct way to go through the process when making people redundantā¦
It doesnāt make sense to do it the way he has outside of the US, itās going to cost them money needlessly but itās all in the grand scheme of $44bn I guess.
Tbf what tech really needs is a 5%-10% cut across the board and a degree of rationalisation. Most of these jobs will be back in 12 monthsā¦though of course it could be in India.
Its just funny how lads suddenly give a fuck about people losing their livelihoods.
Iām with the working man, and im ating spuds as i type- just so you know where i stand
They wonāt really. Iām sure Twitter will just pay the statutory redundancy. Anyone there less than two years (which is a lot Iād say) wonāt get anything and most wouldnāt have been there long enough to get a big payout.
The row will be about whether they are genuine redundancies. A decision made on the whim of a billionaire in a couple of days wouldnāt strike me as a robust redundancy process.
of course, musk could fold the twitter tent in ireland if he feels that its necessary.
id say a lot of the people let go today would be feverishly going through their twitter accounts to make sure theyve deleted stuff that couldve gotten them fired
I didnāt see anyone cheerleading redundancies ā¦we were just having a chuckle at this blue tick melodrama.
It is amusing to see your faux concern though
