Equality

Oh it dose not change how come
You’d prefer to be gay? Eh, earth to @glasagusban, you are gay.

As for being creepy, get the fuck out of here. You were on here posting about getting a horn from watching someone eating an ice cream a few days ago and now you’re having a go at me because I don’t share your sick fantasies? Unbelievable. The fact that I am not obsessed with sex or have my thought process interfered with to get a few cheap thrills is something I am grateful for. I believe it allows me to enjoy my life more.
I’m not gay, sorry to disappoint.

You can believe what you like. You’re not normal. Your make up is missing some part that deprives you of a massive part of the human experience. You’re not really a full person. You’re pitiable.

If what you say is true of course, which is questionable.
people are harping on about studies showing no ill effects which is not true as nobody actually knows the answer because of problems with sample sizes and controls for other contributing factors

Show me an uncontested study which says kids do just as well raised by a same sex married couple as a traditional married couple
Only one of us has posted a study which is acknowledged to be “bullshit” by its publishers, mate. You.

You need to be up front and honest and start campaigning for single parenting to be banned.

The correct answer is we don’t know what effect this will have on children and society
i never mentioned a study

Why? Because i say nobody can say definitively what effects will be versus the Yes side saying it will have no adverse effects.

Fundamentalism in all its guises is dangerous. We have moved away from religious fundamentalism towards a new form of liberal fundamentalism. The latter although framed as tolerant is equally as intolerant of any competing or different view with bigotry being the new blasphemy.

How come? Because that’s the way the referendum is. It’s a change to who can marry. Marriage, in law, doesn’t change.

Maybe you should have a read of the referendum commission website joe. They’ll be posting flyers soon.

I’m agnostic.

Bigotry the new blasphemy? That sounds like a wholly positive development.

Straw man argument. You’re getting lazy.

really? Both are labels to shut down differing opinions.

stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one’s own -

by dictionary definition you are a bigot

You had to go to dictionary.com?

There are many reasons it’s a positive development. Because you’ll ask, they centre Round the concepts of harm and power.

Why quote a discredited study by a right-wing, Christian fundamentalist then…

To balance liberal fundamentalism.

I will vote Yes but there needs to be permission to have a different view.

Will we see the thought police starting to encroach further on our language to assuage a tiny minority. People will trip over saying fathers and mothers and start to say parents. Husband and wife will become partners. Lest you be a bigot. Mother’s Day. Father’s Day. Mothers’ day. Fathers’ day.

Gender neutrality is advocated and yet at the same time we have introduced gender quotas in the name of equality - white middle class diversity straddles that inconsistency and reconciles it with ease.

criminalisation of cruel comments on social media and criminalisation of dissenting views as hate speech.

We are liberal. But don’t say anything mean…or anything that we the self appointed guardians of secular morality and arbiters of correctness deem appropriate.

Je suis Charlie…

What the fuck are you on about?

You have different views. You are allowed them. Others are allowed say that they are rubbish. You don’t have anything to moan about. The No side are the only ones complaining about what they perceive to be “mean” comments, as this thread clearly shows.

That if a 65 year old man with a few kids decides he is now actually a woman then saying he is crazier than a shit house rat is an equally acceptable comment/reaction as accepting him as a transgender human.

You’re perfectly allowed make comments based on wantonly ignorant prejudice but others don’t have to take you seriously. And I certainly don’t.

I find it hard to believe you don’t take everything and everybody seriously. Especially yourself.

I take a lot of things seriously and a lot of things not seriously.
