Trump claiming credit for the stock market rally will come back to bite him in the arse. Markets go up and down. The market is due a correction and it will happen during his 4 years.
As for what point is he making mentioning Sweden, the same point he has been making since he first ran as a candidate. He is using Europe as the example of soft borders and unvetted refugees being bad policy. The majority of Americans (Rasmussen poll) support a temporary travel ban and extreme vetting of visitors from countries where ISIS is active.

So, there were no riots in Sweden last night? Trump’s basic point is correct, allowing in large groups from the ME and shoving them into a ghetto with no plan for educating them or integrating them is a recipe for trouble.

But where’s the stats to say Sweden or Germany et al are experiencing severe levels of crime as a result of immigration? Last I checked, crime was actually down in those countries. What’s happening is that isolated cases of crimes involving immigrants are being blown up to make it look like society is out of control when it’s not. Trump is giving out about fake news on one hand but is just as quick to use unsubstantiated news reports that suits his agenda on the other.

Don’t expect to see stats from the same governments who have caused the problem by accepting immigrants with no plan for their education and integration. Isolated crimes? Cologne never happened then I guess. Look, if you can’t see the insanity of allowing in millions of young males from strict Muslim countries, and expect they will just magically integrate themselves, you are as nuts as @glasagusban.
Regardless of what you think of the Gatestone Institute, they have done the most extensive study on German incidents in 2016. The left predictably accuse them of being Islamphobic. I am not anti-immigrant or anti-refugee, I think we in the west should allow in those fleeing war torn areas, but it’s being done completely stupidly in Europe. All that’s being done is creating the next set of hell holes like the existing Paris and Brussels suburbs. Politicians can wash their hands though, they have done their job.

Study is old, but apparently the Swedish gov haven’t released stats relating to immigrant crime since 2005.
“Immigrants are over-represented in Sweden’s crime statistics. In a study by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention in 1997–2001, 25% of the almost 1,520,000 offences were found to be committed by people born abroad and almost 20% were committed by Swedish born people of foreign background. In the study, immigrants were found to be four times more likely to be investigated for lethal violence and robbery than ethnic Swedes. In addition, immigrants were three times more likely to be investigated for violent assault, and five times more likely to be investigated for sex crimes.”

I never advocated one way or another in relation to immigrants, so relax with the aggressive tones and name calling. I merely pointed out the hypocrisy of Trump and his use of facts.

So you agree with halting the influx of people from certain countries as a sure fire way to stop terrorism on one hand. But, gun issues in America at the hands of mentally unstable youths is not a big issue for you?
