In all likelihood, this will kill professional football in this country, sadly.
It’s already struggling, and always has done, but if the UEFA money lessens, I don’t see where the Revenue streams come from for teams to pay players enough to justify them going full-time.
And then the quality suffers as a result.

If people actually go to local games instead of going spending 80 euro in the Ratoath inn of a Wednesday evening they could keep it going.
Pump the money into the local leagues.
Hopefully this will see a paradigm shift and the Utd and Liverpool fans will go local
Or focus on the slavery and human rights abuses by your Qatari friendly owners at Manchester City.

ok mate. be a dickhead somewhere else please
This is a puzzling one. I have to think that this is some of move by big clubs to force UEFA’s hand as there is no way that such a competition will go ahead.
But realistically they won’t. Or, at least, not enough to sustain the clubs properly.
Irish fans, by and large, do like football but, culturally, are armchair fans. And will probably watch this league if it’s on, even if they are currently expressing disdain for it.

This is obviously an attempt by FSG at constructive dismissal of Klopp. First the meagre transfer budget against domestic rivals but now it’s the biggest clubs in Europe. While it does appear to be a dilemma for Klopp I’m sure he’ll meet this latest challenge head on.
a lot of people I speak to are sick of it, the VAR, all the other bullshit, talking about cancelling tv subscriptions etc not going to games over any more
Market the fuck out of the LOI - try get the disillusioned lads, make the match day a bit of craic.
It doesn’t take much to get the snowball effect /bandwagon going (look at rugby)
Munster went from having a man and his dog at European Rugby matches of a Wednesday evening to having a big stadium that’s now empty. That’s what the LOI need to strive for

On Sky Sports, the resident pundits turned their attention to the €$L bombshell at a time when Manchester United were still being held by Burnley, almost falling over each other in the race [to express their disgust]at how money and the relentless pursuit of it by men who are already swimming in green is ruining the game. Their pontifications were largely sage and well-intentioned, even if they they did lose a little impact in their delivery from behind a prohibitively expensive paywall a sizeable proportion of the UK simply cannot afford to peep over.
Big difference between sitting on your hole with your replica jersey on for a few hours on a Sunday and getting up off your hole and giving a large part of your day every second weekend to sitting in an uncomfortable seat in the cold to watch an inferior version of what you see on the TV.
Give him a chance. Mourinho has only been sacked about 5 hours.
yeah, the second one is far, far more enjoyable

Bruno says no to the European super league.
After his struggles in the Big Six games he’s happy to feast on the cannon fodder teams in the EPL.
