Favourite Dublin Pub that won't exist again

Great pub … If it’s staying as a pub they can’t get rid of staff if they don’t want to go though …

Don’t think I’ve ever seen more beautiful women in the one spot in Dublin than I saw in that beer garden from the front lounge when I was in there watching the World Cup final a good few years back … unrale…

That may have been the law but the practice in the pub trade was always to fire the staff when the new man took over. The new man had to be able to trust his staff.

He’ll have to give them healthy wedge to move them on so…

He won’t give them much. It was usually the practice that the fella selling carried the can for that.

It’s all changed now , EU directives and the like … they could take a claim for unfair dismissal if he fires them and then it could be up to two years salary he’d be paying out…

I know that’s the law. It’s not the way it works in the pub trade though.

Sad, is it going to remain a pub or is it being renovated into something else?

I don’t know. Myself and a mate (who doesn’t frequent it) were in there earlier. He sent me on that link as it appeared on his Twitter feed presumably due to the ‘algorithm’.

Staff are being let go so I doubt legally that it could continue to be a pub,

Shame i used to to enjoy the odd Sunday pint in there when in town.

A grand pint of porter

I noticed the Red Parrott was closed at the weekend.

I’ve been in Croke Park once since 2019 which will hopefully be twice come Sunday. Are there any pubs at all around it left it open apart from the Hideout?

As a self confirmed zero Covid merchant I’m beyond shocked you’re putting yourself and others in danger by travelling, were you just coddling us all along?

Hideout, Hogan Stand, Big Tree are your options.
