Poxy sinus infection coming on. :rage: Am on the solpa-sinus already. Hopefully it doesnā€™t get too bad.

That is not true

Teixobactin has torn up the rule book for antibiotics

It resists resistance.

Is it irresistible?

Is it a game-changer?

A game changer but the game will go onā€¦ Will we not merely perpetuate the battle? In 20 years time resistance will have built up to this new antibiotic. I understand the need to take them for more serious illnesses, but we need to eradicate the mindset where people are lashing back pills for colds and coughs.

It is resistant to resistance

It is a momentum shift in the battle against disease

Kids alive today will live to be 1000

What about those people who make the stand against taking an antibiotic but end up with a cold becoming a flu becoming pneumonia (spelling?) and then dying?

Colds and flus are caused by viruses which antibiotics donā€™t treat

Itā€™s the secondary infection youā€™d need to guard against

How do we combat colds and flus, pal?

garlic mate.

First defence nasal spray and frequent hand washing and if you are exposed lots of ester c

I would also recommend never taking public transport *- they are like Petri dishes

Iā€™m with you mate, I have taken one antibiotic in about 15 years Iā€™d say. It always takes a bit longer to shake something off, but I find I get sick way less than others as a result.

Never take any drugs. Never get sick.

Discovered in 2015, which probably means it wonā€™t be available for 10 years. Weā€™re all fucked.

Small bit of a toothache starting here.
