This is similar to the opening moves in the shafting of CJH. Early rumblings of discontent sees a handful of dissidents creep from the long grass only to be repelled by an avalanche of spears.

A gnashing of teeth and murmurings of heaves rumble on until a re-assessment indicates that they have the numbers this time and so, to use a biblical term, the tomb is closed and all retire…

Ireland has a remarkably low number of heaves. It doesn’t have to be Australia from 2010 to 2018 or so but at least make it interesting.

Interesting that should it come to a vote of confidence in Martin within the party only the 48 members of Dáil Éireann will have a vote. The Seanadóiri (19) and MEPs (4) will merely have the right to voice their opinions but not the ability to drop the guillotine….

25 therefore becomes the magic number.

Party whip Mary Butler (Waterford) on now to defend the leader. Make what you will of it……

For a leader of “The Republican Party” he’s also a good lad for tonguing the rear end of Unionists

When you are relying on Mary Butler to defend you, you are not in a good place.

I knew I could rely on you Fagan. :pint:

The carry on with the Ceanncomhairle was crazy too.

Micheál Martin’s leadership

The Taoiseach’s leadership abilities have been cruelly exposed. At this time, this country cannot afford a lame duck taoiseach.

Neither can Fianna Fáil afford a lame duck leader going into its centenary year.

But this is not just about the party, it is bigger than that; it is about the leadership of the country. – Yours, etc,

The soldiers should have been made an illegal organanisation after the economic crash. The sophisticated electorate thought otherwise…

It appears that elected representatives aren’t great at the oul’ driving when toddling home after 6 or 8 creamy ones.
They would want a weekend end seminar with some of the rooral
hod-carriers that I’d be familiar with to perfect their techniques.

Unfortunately that great old watering hole The Spots, frequented by lapsed poster The Link Walsh isn’t trading I understand but would have made a mighty location…

If Malky is found guilty what would be punishment from FF?
Take him off a committee and let him fester on the back back bench’s for a few years?

He’s Chair of some meaningless committee (lucrative little number) so he can forget that. He’s not on Martin’s personal Christmas card list so I’m guessing that Martin will remove the party whip from him for 6 months or so. This of course is Meehole being the tough guy as he secretly hopes that rakes of his detractors meet similar fates.

For all the oul’ plámás and soft talk he’s a vindictive fucker….

Do they not use the Senator Sean McCarthy line any more when stopped for drink driving, that they were on their way home from Leinster House and have immunity from arrest under Article 15.3.1 of the Constitution?

There was some mention in an article that he was heading for the airport at the time

He was going to the airport at 5am in the morning

He obviously had a few too many the night before.

A bit unlucky in fairness.

Didn’t he get in trouble circa 2015 before some election when an old story resurfaced about striking out at a female when he was in college. Seems like a nice fella on the surface but he certainly has a bit of a chequered past now.
