Fine Gael - Hugging The Touchline On The Right Wing?

Nonsense. The Empire is a thing of the past. The majority impacted are dead and gone. It’s a ridiculous suggestion, akin to reparations for slavery in the US.

These are grown up countries who are in the main governing themselves. They don’t need to be treated like children. It is their decision to stay apart of it.

Again, nonsense.

If you want a UI in the next 20 years you are going to need a strong percentage of Unionists crossing over to support that.

Everything is up for debate.

Exactly.

There are lads on here who value the Tri colour, anthem etc more than unity.

The fact that it isn’t even countenanced is telling.

Is there any other parts of the Good Friday Agreement which you would call “nonsense”?

Deflect from the point.

Give me your strategy for unity.

Pretty much all those impacted by British colonisation of current 26 county Ireland are dead and gone. Therefore by your argument, it’s a ridiculous suggestion that people from 26 county Ireland should have rights to live and work in non-EU Britain the same as if they were British citizens.

Nobody said anything about any of that. You’re now arguing with a straw man.

It was pointed out to you what the requirement for Irish unity under the Good Friday Agreement was. You seem to have a problem with that agreement.

My point is that all that’s needed to become a United Ireland is a border referendum on both sides showing more than 50% in favour. If joining the commonwealth in the aftermath is a step which would help to bring about peace then fair enough, but Unionists aren’t going to vote for a United Ireland whether we join the commonwealth or not so its pointless until then

What?

The decision to have a CTA is one that the U.K. and Ireland made as sovereign nations. That is up to us both.

Well duh, a vote in favour is needed, what cutting insight.

And by your logic, it’s “ridiculous”.

It’s not me saying that, it’s yourself.

You seemed to be having trouble with it

If you think joining the commonwealth will result in Unionists voting for a United Ireland you are mad

It’s ridiculous that your reasoning is reparations for colonial activity.

The reasons for the CTA are numerous.

How? A positive vote is obvious and not even a point.

The suggestion of joining the Commonwealth is like dropping the flag or anthem. Something even MLMD put out there.

Bringing up the GFA mechanisms, well duh.

You don’t agree in it and that’s fine, but bringing up the GFA as your “point”.

What? Unionists will vote for a United Ireland if Ireland agree to join the commonwealth?

It was DeValera who said that the best way to get the unionists to acquiesce to a united Ireland was under the umbrella of the Commonwealth.

I didn’t mention the word “reparations” once.

What on earth are you even on about?

Your posts are bizarre - you’re constantly arguing against straw men and making no sense at all. You’re like a Twitterbot at the moment.

who mate?

That is your line of thinking.

Ireland has a CTA with the U.K. for numerous reasons. A “make up” for colonialism is not on that list and is actually insulting to Ireland suggesting it.

Zzzzzz.

You’re still arguing against a straw man, which you’ve already been doing on multiple occasions already today.

You might answer @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy’s question while you’re at it there.
