I hit 170something early on the other day and got freaked out. Once I slowed a bit I was back to mid 150s
About 43:40, second half was torture
@Rocko, could you make this a sticky please?
Looking to get some more people out walking/waddling/trotting/jogging/running/sprinting a 5km between now and Paddy’s Day in memory of our departed brother fistoffury.
Link to make a donation to Bone Marrow for Leukemia Trust in the thread opening post too.
I can’t seem to edit my opening post pal

Great cause. Not sure the ins and outs about the bone marrow donors - is the above looking for Irish ones?
Think I mentioned before but my best mates daughter (12) got a rare form of leukemia (acute myeloid) last year and was looking very serious for a while on whether she’d pull through. Had to go through 83 doses of chemo. She got a bone marrow transplant from a donor in Germany and spent 63 days in isolation in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit before finally getting home but is on the mend and nearly back to normal now and playing ball. She’s a great kid. The transplant stuff is vital - will throw a few quid.
Few of us doing 11k run a muck this weekend for CHF Crumlin where she recovered. Won’t put up link as we’ve hit our target but heartedly agree that the Bone marrow one is key.
Thanks for sorting @caulifloweredneanderthal
Right, first time I’ve run in fucking years was this past week. Going from nothing to a 10k in May, ran 3 times in past 7 days.
Seeing life slip away for two fellow posters the kick in the arse I needed to get myself up and motoring.
Put me in coach
Is there a TFK donation page or just donate to main page there?
Lovely stuff. Just build up to your 5km, do the run before Paddy’s Day, provide the screenshot from a fitness app such as Strava, mapmyrun etc to prove you did it (some of us come from an auditing background) and then make the donation if you wish.
Just donating directly to main page
A cIuster fuck but a decent 5k in there. I had only planned to do a quick 3km @ 4:00 but after a fastish warm up km I said id finish out the 5km as i knew the time would beat @Mac , then my warm down km ended up being quicker than my warm up one, so im using that
I make it 20:48
Good effort mate, but it won’t count. Best of luck with your next 5k
The heart rate. You are barely awake.
Serious GPS discrepancies on Strava. It appears you fell off the side of a small mountain at the 5km mark
Sure he couldn’t do it in February when it mattered. His supposed victory will always carry a *
The heart monitor on the watch is dodgy. I wouldnt pay any heed to it.
Just like the GPS. It’s doubtful you even did 5km at all
